REMEMBER THE YMCA ?
I do.
When I was a child my parents took me to the YMCA to learn to swim. In those days it was a male only place and my swimming introduced me to public nudity. In my home we thought nothing about walking around nude as there were four of us and we had only one bathroom. Modesty was not thought of. Now I experienced public nudity. All swimming was nude, in fact our teachers and coaches were nude. As I continued throughout grade school and high school, I was a member of the swimming team and we always competed nude. It was the way things were done then.
Today, since women are now Y members, alas those days are over except -----. Some Y's have premium fitness centers for men and women. Since they are gender seperate, you can still find nudity there. At the Y where I swim and work out, the Men's Fitness Center has exercise equitment , weights, etc and, although the signs say "shoes and shirts required when using equipment" some of us can be found working out nude. The pool, however is gender mixed - Now we have to wear suits.
