7 years ago a man was committed to a high-security psychiatric hospital for fabricating a story of large scale money-laundering at a major bank. Internal bank documents have been found that prove his claims.

As Reported in the Daily Morning.

Of course, this abuse of the psychiatric system is brushed off as "not their fault" by everyone who helped get this man committed.

A German man committed to a high-security psychiatric hospital after being accused of fabricating a story of money-laundering activities at a major bank is to have his case reviewed after evidence has emerged proving the validity of his claims.

In a plot worthy of a crime blockbuster, Gustl Mollath, 56, was submitted to the secure unit of a psychiatric hospital seven years ago after court experts diagnosed him with paranoid personality disorder following his claims that staff at the Hypo Vereinsbank (HVB) – including his wife, then an assets consultant at HVB – had been illegally smuggling large sums of money into Switzerland.

Mollath was tried in 2006 after his ex-wife accused him of causing her physical harm. He denied the charges, claiming she was trying to sully his name in the light of the evidence he allegedly had against her. He was admitted to the clinic, where he has remained against his will ever since.

But recent evidence brought to the attention of state prosecutors shows that money-laundering activities were indeed practiced over several years by members of staff at the Munich-based bank, the sixth-largest private financial institute in Germany, as detailed in an internal audit report carried out by the bank in 2003. The report, which has now been posted online, detailed illegal activities including money-laundering and aiding tax evasion. A number of employees, including Mollath’s wife, were subsequently sacked following the bank’s investigation.

The “Mollath affair”, as it has been dubbed by the German media, has taken on such political dimensions that it now threatens to bring down the government of Bavaria. Under the weight of public and political pressure Horst Seehofer, the prime minister of the rich southern state and a member of the Christian Social Union (CSU) – the sister party to Angela Merkel’s Christian Democrats – has now called for the case to be reopened, amid charges that Mollath was possibly the victim of a gross miscarriage of justice.

“The judiciary would be well-advised to reassess the case,” Seehofer said this week. “I want them to concentrate on the question of whether everything has been done correctly.”

His justice minister, Beate Merk, who has refused repeated calls to resign, said she had no doubt the case had been carried out “by the book and quite correctly”.

Mollath has been inundated with public support in the form of thousands of letters and internet posts, many comparing his fight to that of David versus Goliath. He said he was delighted that what he called the “murky business of the bank” is now emerging, 10 years after he first made his claims.

“This is precisely what I wanted to achieve all along,” he told the Süddeutsche Zeitung, which brought the audit report to light earlier this month. In an interview in his sparsely furnished room in Bayreuth’s hospital for psychiatry, he pointed out the irony that he had suffered the fate he had repeatedly warned his wife she would face, telling her: ‘Please be careful. One day you will end up in handcuffs and then you’ll be banged up for a few years'”, he said.

Asked whether it felt any responsibility towards Mollath, a spokeswoman for HVB told: “We don’t recognise any connection between the results of our audit report and either the criminal trial or the commitment of Mr Mollath.”

Asked why the bank kept the report to itself and did not approach the authorities, the spokeswoman added: “In 2003 HVB initiated extensive investigations via internal audits in response to information provided by Mr Mollath on transactions that had taken place a long time before … It was determined that employees had acted contrary to their instructions regarding Swiss banking transactions”.

But while the findings, it said, had resulted in sackings, the audit “did not produce sufficient evidence indicating criminal conduct … that would have made a criminal charge seem appropriate”.

Melisa Busekros returns home

An Update on Melisa Busekros, who had been detained by the German State, and kept in a state psychiatric facility for treatment of the psychiatric condition of being home schooled

German home-schooler Melissa Busekros finally returned home early this morning on her 16th birthday after having been forcibly separated from her family by the government 3 months ago. Back in February, Melissa was seized from her family home in a dramatic police raid for the crime of home schooling – illegal since 1937 by edict of Nazi Chancellor Adolf Hitler – and placed with a foster home in a location unknown to her family.

The International Human Rights Group (IHRG), which has doggedly championed the rights of Busekros and other German home schooling families, reports Melissa penned a note to her foster family and left in the dead of night, arriving on her doorstep in Erlangen at 3AM to the astonishment of her family.

According to IHRG, German law gives Melissa Busekros far more rights after turning 16, meaning she now has far more clout in determining her custody in German law. So, as soon as she turned 16, Melissa – the same girl whom a state official of the Jugendamt (Youth Welfare Office) described as happy with state custody – headed out the door for her family.

There is a danger the Jugendamt may order police forces to seize Melissa again. However, confident of her new legal rights, Melissa is prepared to refuse to leave home on the advice of her attorney, Dr. Hildebrandt.

German Homeschooled Child Sentenced to Psychiatric Unit Vanishes

A disturbing case of political psychiatry, As seen in the Post Chronicle.

The Home Schooled child in Germany, Melissa Busekros, who was sentenced the Nuremberg psychiatry unit for being home schooled, has now vanished. (See WorldNetDaily.com article below.)

German authorities have not let the parents know her new whereabouts.

The case involves a teenage homeschool student in Germany who was suddenly snatched from her parents by a SWAT team of German police officers and thrown into a psychiatric ward due to her "school phobia" taking an alleged turn for the worse.

The German homeschool advocacy organization Netzwerk-Bildungsfreifeit made the statement: "Neither the parents nor their attorney are informed where Melissa is arrested now. The situation is [horrifying] for the girl and the parents."

According to WorldNetDaily.com, Netzwerk-Bildungsfreifeit said the situation confirms its worst fears: That "Germany blatantly spurns parental and human rights and cannot be regarded any longer as a free country. It is running more and more to tyranny and dictatorship."

Conducting Talk Show interviews on this subject is Christopher Klicka, author of HomeSchool Heroes, and a panel of spokespersons (see list below) with Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA), America's largest homeschooling organization with a word of warning that what is happening in Germany today may be knocking on our door tomorrow.

During your interview, your HSLDA representative will give information about the bizarre arrest and the German officials who refuse to give basic information about the whereabouts of the child to her parents, including how German authorities took a team of about 20 police officers and other officials to take the teen from her home, right in front of her shocked family.

The unconscionable treatment of sincere and faithful Christian homeschool families is a sad legacy from Germany's past. Homeschooling was first banned under Adolf Hitler, and that ban is still enforced today.

HSLDA continues to track the circumstances of about 40 families in Germany with court cases in various stages.

ADDITIONAL BACKGROUND (Courtesy of WorldNetDaily.com)

In the summer of 2005, when Melissa was 15, she was told she would have to repeat the seventh grade at the government school because she was failing math and Latin. She had good grades in the rest of her classes, so her parents tutored her at home for those two subjects.

When the school officials found out they were angry and then expelled Melissa, so the family began to homeschool full time.

However, the Youth Welfare office then took the family to court because they were homeschooling. Then, on Tuesday, January 30, 2007, social workers and police officers came to the Busekros home and forcibly took Melissa to the child psychiatric unit where she was questioned for four hours before she was returned home. Then two days later, 15 police officers and social workers came to the Busekros home and took Melissa away from her parents by force and placed her in the child psychiatric unit.

According to Melissa's father, Hubert Busekros, this treatment was justified by the psychiatrist's finding two days previously that Melissa was supposedly developmentally delayed by one year and that she suffered from school phobia.

Nevertheless, one organization concerned with education expressed outrage at the treatment of Melissa Busekros.

"The Netzwerk Bildungsfreiheit [the Network for Freedom of Education] condemns this inconsiderate and totally incommensurate behavior on the part of the officials involved and demands that they give Melissa her freedom and return her to her family immediately," the group was quoted in an article on its website. According to German "psychiatrist" 98% of the world's children have an emotional disorder

As seen here, in a case against home schooling in Germany, where home schooling has been against the law since it was banned by Adolf Hitler. The child was seized by the state, and sent for diagnosis of a mental illness. The psychiatrist has evaluated the child as having a mental disorder due to her dislike of school.

From the translation of Dr. Siegfried Schanda's psyhological evaluation of Melissa Busekros...
Melissa Busekros was examined by us. She has a childhood emotional disorder, severe school phobia and an oppositional denial-syndrome. Melissa lacks insight into her illness and the need for treatment, and considers herself healthy and her behaviour fully normal. M. needs urgent help in a closed setting if need be, and subsequent special education treatment to ensure schooling.
Have you ever heard anything more frightening? Distaste for government school is considered a "childhood emotional disorder" and the treatment is to abduct the child by force, imprison the child then forcefully attempt to indoctrinate the child into thinking their parents are evil.

Most kids hate school. Is this guy nuts?

I would say "Dr." Shanda is the one who lacks insight into his illness. That's one sick person to abuse the mental health profession for such crass and heartless, political means.

Homeschool student disappears from psych ward - Authorities don't let parents, lawyer know her new location

A followup on a case of the political use of psychiatry in Germany

The case involving a 15-year-old homeschool student in Germany who suddenly was snatched from her home by a SWAT team of police officers and sent to a psychiatric ward for her "school phobia" suddenly has taken a turn for the worse.

Officials who work in support of homeschoolers in Germany, even though it is illegal there, notified WND that Melissa Busekros, in a "new escalation," was moved from the psychiatric hospital where she had been held for more than a week "to an unknown place."

"Neither the parents nor their attorney are informed where Melissa is arrested now," said an urgent statement from Netzwerk-Bildungsfreifeit," the German homeschool advocacy organization.

"The situation is [horrifying] for the girl and the parents," said the statement, which was written in German and then translated into English.

The German organization said the situation confirms its worst fears: That "Germany blatantly spurns parental and human rights and cannot be regarded any longer as a free country. It is running more and more to tyranny and dictatorship."

WND reported more than a week ago that German authorities had assembled a team of about 20 police officers and other officials to take the teen from in front of her shocked family.

She was taken on a judge's order to a psychiatric ward after a diagnosis of "school phobia," according to reports from German homeschool supporters. She had fallen behind in Latin and math studies, and was being tutored at home in the subjects. However, when school officials found out, they expelled her, then took the family to court when they began homeschooling.

The court order executed by police officers said, "The relevant Youth Welfare Office is hereby instructed and authorized to bring the child, if necessary by force, to a hearing and may obtain police support for this purpose."

Her father, Hubert Busekros, told the homeschool group the state was out of line with its "zealous drive to enforce compulsory schooling."

She initially was hospitalized in the Child Psychiatry Unit of a clinic in Nuremburg, but then moved without notice, officials with Netzwerk-Bildungsfreifeit said.

Last week, the Home School Legal Defense Association launched a campaign to have its supporters, mostly in the United States, contact the German embassy about the case.

Then officials with the International Human Rights Group said they had assembled a list of German officials to contact on behalf of the teen.

Information about the case can be found in English at Netzwerk-Bildungsfreifeit, officials said.

"The State's action clearly goes beyond what is justifiable. They took unreasonable measures for which they had no basis. They intimidated the family with a 'SWAT' team of 15 police officers to take captive a 15-year old unsuspecting girl early in the morning, taking her to a state psychiatrist," according to the IHRG.

"The psychiatrist, after hours of interrogation, wrote a report which claimed that Melissa had delayed educational development of one year and school phobia. The judge, basing her decision on this report, gave the custody of the child over to the state and placed the child in a psychiatric ward. This was all done in a sped-up action taking only four days. The family is devastated and has immediately appealed the judge's decision," the IHRG said.

"This is nothing else than deprivation of liberty and child abduction," the German homeschool group said.

Officials there said historically the German phobia about homeschooling began with Adolph Hitler, whose design was to control the minds of children as they grew, leaving them with only his worldview.

"The 'Jugendamt' (youth welfare office) has its origin in the German Nazi state," the German group said. "German Wikipedia writes about the Jugendamt: 'In 1939 the Jugendamt [was] adopted ... as a part of government in the NS-state control of child-education. The Jugendamt controlled and observed families and children politically from their birth."

A spokesman for the group told WND, "Today the Jugendamt … is free to take the children away from their parents when in their opinion the child's welfare is jeopardized. A false accusation of neighbors is sometimes sufficient to capture the children from their parents."

The students' rights and human rights groups say they still want people to contact German officials about the situation: Contacts, provided by the IHRG, include:
