Today Jack is 6 months old. I can't believe he's already a half a year old!! Where does time go?
He has his 6 month wellness appointment this week so I'll post his stats post after that.

1.24.13
Just because he's cute, and I have not posted in awhile...it's time to gear up for the musical which means I really don't have any free time. Good thing I love my job!! ;)
Last night Ty tore his nail off to the quick. We didn't have gauze or tape, so we made do with what we had: paper towels and duct tape. Of course I felt terrible for my baby but I had to take a pic or two because it was hilarious!

Royalty
So, I flew down to NOLA for a whirlwind weekend because my mama was Queen of the ball!! It was lots of fun and made my heart swell to see her beaming and my daddy having so much fun. I love to see them happy, and they definitely deserve it!
Bouie was sad I didn't bring his friend Tyson with me. Mysti is a cute pup. She reminds me so much of Jack!! (Is it weird that I just said a dog reminds me of my child???)
Also, while down there, I noticed a Goodell picture in *every* establishment I went into, including a DOG BOARDER. Fantastic! Dat Dog had Goodell in the Doghouse. (The Goodell picture says "Do Not Serve This Man). For those of you not familiar with the Goodell saga, he is the NFL commish and I swear has done everything in his power to take down the Saints. Well, the city is not so pleased with this behavior AND is also gearing up for the Superbowl (hence the "Do Not Serve" photos).
I went back to school today. My busiest time of the year is just weeks away. The musical!! Cross your fingers that we get NO MORE winter weather, I don't have the time for a snow day AND I want to be out of school the first week of June.

1.4.13
Well, I came down to NOLA by myself to go to the CAMAN Ball with my parents. It's the very first time I've been away from Jack overnight. I'm trying really hard not to think about how much I am missing my little stinker. Grandlin and Pawpaw came rushing into town to spend more time with Jack. Daddy didn't want a whole weekend with just the boys. He's not quite ready for that just yet. ;)
Our friend Karl came to meet J on NYE. I love the contrast of big Karl and little J together.
Jack started sitting up on his own this past week. He has to be put in the position, he hasn't figured out how to get there himself, but that is not due to a lack of trying.
Sweet boy.

5 months
With the holidays and traveling and the power outage and house guests, I have yet to post Jack's five month info.
On December 26 our little guy turned five months old. I can't believe how fast he is growing. It'll be July before I know it.
Little man is growing right on track. He is apx. 16 lbs., and apx. 27" long.
He is starting to army crawl and can sit on his own, though you have to put him in that position.
This past month he started eating solids. We started with rice cereal, then oatmeal. After about five days each of that, we started introducing veggies. Three days with one veggie, then we introduce another. We want to make sure there are no reactions, and if there is one, we can easily identify the culprit. So far, Jack has had squash, green beans and green peas. So far he likes them all, though I think green beans are his favorite right now.
He still adores his exersaucer. He loves anything that makes noise or lights up. He got lots of goodies at Christmas that he is having fun with. He is so very social and does not want to miss a moment of anything. He smiles with his whole body and it lights up your entire soul. He gives big hugs and sloppy kisses. He has a special look just for his mommy and a special look just for his daddy. He loves to talk. He will talk and talk for hours if you let him. He has got the grabbing thing down pat, so mummy's hair stays in a permanent pony tail and mommy and daddy always wear contacts. He still loves bath time. He ADORES his puppy doggies and loves to pet them.
He does NOT like to sleep alone. Period. We cannot convince him that it is a good thing to sleep in one's own bed. He does not like to be off schedule (but who does????).
He's not really a paci kind of guy. He'll use one at night when sleeping but doesn't wake up if he spits it out. We redirect him to a paci if he tries to suck his thumb. So don't want to get in a situation of breaking him from that habit! Thankfully, he prefers to suck on his toes right now. ;)
Each and every day is complete with Jack in the world. He's perfect and I thank God for him every second of every day.
