Oh man, haven't been here in a bit! Lots of good memories, PTC got me introduced to programming, and sites like this kept my learning and excitement going, undoubtably changed my brain for the better. Thanks for the work you've done!
Hopefully someone is still around here.
I'd like to send special thanks to CyberYoshi64 if he's still around—he was a major force for me to get introduced to the world of programming.
Wherever you are, bud, I've enjoyed working with you. Hope life is treating you well.
I use this same username elsewhere. Really should look for SmileBASIC stuff on other Websites.
Sorry for hijacking this post, but could I ask a huge favor and have you delete this comment? https://smilebasicsource.com/forum/thread/super-bearland/172041#post_172041
It's a VERY long story but it's causing trouble with automated processes that think it's part of the real game. It would be a major help if you wouldn't mind removing it. (I'll delete this comment afterwards to not derail things further.)
ill go first

Gonna miss this place. Was fun seeing what people made even if I never made anything myself.
More specific "approximate" sort order.
Add some missing info about string comparisons
It's been a long time since I've been here, and I know I was mostly just the annoying kid of the site no one really cared about, but I just wanna say. I'll miss this place when it's gone. I have a lot of fond memories ot this site and my life would legitimately not be the same without it. When this site was active was some of the best years of my life and I feel legitimately sad such a big part of my mid-to-late childhood is going away. But oh well.
To be honest, even though I haven't talked to anyone I met here in years, I miss a lot of you. I've just not really had any good ways of reaching out, and it's hard to bond when most of us have drifted away from the one shared interest that brought us all together in the first place. But that's life.
...I'll just drop my discord handle here for anyone interested: bulba413
Just checked back here after quite some time. Had some good childhood memories here! Thanks for maintaining the site and keeping its functions up for so long. Good luck with whatever you decide to do next.
Got the urge to work in SB again, so I thought I'd check this place out again. Shame it's going to shut down.
Hey, all. I was thinking of picking up SB again and thought I'd check in, here. Guess I'm not really surprised by the plans to close this down, seeing how slow it's been, but it's still a bit sad to see.
I joined years ago in the 3DS days, but never made anything worthwhile. A couple of years ago I dug into SB4 and actually got a solid start on a project for once, but I dropped it. Now I want to pick it up again, and hopefully make it playable within a month or two. Figured this would be a good place to share it, but... Oh, well.
It seems that the most active SB users are Japanese (based on what I find by browsing projects within the app on Switch), and most of them don't bother to use this site, so I guess that's a big reason why things are slow, here. I like this site because SB doesn't have an official place to discuss programming and search for projects (that I know of), and this is perfect to fill that void. Or, would be, if only people would keep using it.
Wish this site could stick around longer. But I absolutely understand why you're making this decision. Thanks for providing this, I enjoyed the time with the SB community.
I'm currently in the debugging phase of my current project, but I plan on using SmileBASIC File Manager to export it and then upload it to GitHub before porting it to SmileBASIC 4. Though I would also like to try my hand at Petit Computer.
fix bad filenames...
I'm sorry to like... be silly. I realized the server expires next year rather than this year. Since registrations are disabled anyway, I've talked to some people and have decided to leave it open until sometime next year to give people time to finish stuff up. I will make another post when I plan to make it readonly. The readonly code is all complete, so it's ready to go anytime.
It'd be really cool if people could upload PTC programs, since those will last indefinitely. If you have any PTC programs you've made, please consider uploading for preservation. Also, if you've had trouble getting into your account, send me an email (see https://smilebasicsource.com/about) and I'll help.

Cherish your memories of this place.
Thank you, haloopdy.
Thanks for everything.
Thank you for making SBS!!! I'll really miss it, and I'm very grateful for the extensive work put into the great technology -- and simply just having a place to hang out in, for all these years.
All right, it's just easier if I go ahead and work on the full readonly effort at this point. No need to do this in chunks. The website will stay usable as-is until I fully finish the readonly effort. IDK how long that will take, but I'll just push the change one day. Thank you everyone for using SBS.
I've removed upvotes/downvotes. I know it might be frustrating but I have to trim down the codebase to the point where I can finally rewrite large portions of it to not connect to the secondary service (the whole point of all this).
I plan on doing more large-scale removals this weekend. I'm sorry if you all wanted to finish things up. I next plan on removing image uploads, which I know will defeat the purpose of creating new pages. I'll probably remove some other user-related features.
So I checked, and similarly to what's described on the SAVE page, cancelling a load saves -1 to the RESULT system variable while a successful load saves 1. And assuming it's the same as SAVE, a load failing would presumably save 0 to RESULT.
I haven’t been here for a while, and it makes me sad to see that the community has become more quite. I guess life keeps going? In either case, I appreciate all of you and the contributions you’ve made. It was really nice being able to come here as I was learning to code, and to get help with a variety of random things. Thank you.
