WORDTHY: Forza 3

by Han
published by Rinie 27th October 2009

Image
Forza 3 is the latest racing simulator on offer from Microsoft, the sequel to the highly successful Forza Motorsport 2. This game is certain to rival Sony’s racing simulator offering, Grand Turismo.

New additions to the game include an in-car driving view, one button assisted driving, vehicle rollover, and for the first time in the series, SUVs. Besides that, the game also features the ability to paint race cars, which was an improvement considering Forza Motorsport 2 only allowed for production and tuner cars to be painted. Also included is the ability to create in-game videos and upload them to the Forza Motorsport website, offering gamers a chance to show off their previous great victory for everyone to see. Forza Motorsport 3 is shipped on two discs, but can be played completely off the first; the second disc serves as the "installation disc," which contains 104 extra cars, which brings the total amount of cars to 405, and a few extra tracks, all 1.9GB in total.

Here are some images from the game, feel free to drool over the stunning graphics and realistic gameplay:

Here are some acclaimed reviews of the game:

IGN: Simply put, Forza 3 is one of the best racers ever made.

N4G: With each release games always turn out better than the last, this hasn't changed for Forza 3.

Gamespy: A well-engineered racer that puts you knee-deep in car culture -- aka, what Forza's always done best.

Spotgamers: Great graphics+ Great gameplay = Great fun.

FIFA 10 vs PES 10

Image

Image

Just now, The Sun UK has just released their game review on the upcoming FIFA 10 and Pro Evolution Soccer 2010

We can't released much of the infos about how the review is conducted but here's some recap from The Sun UK:-

FIFA 10

*EA has gone about as far as they can with licenses, graphics and commentary, so this year they are overhauling the controls.
*EA have created a system where you can now run in 360 different directions. Every possible angle has been mapped so you can make any run and play any ball.

PES 10

*Pro Evo is looking tasty - graphics are amazing and almost photo-quality.
*The pace has been slowed considerably, a good thing, to make the game more realistic.

New additions to the Master League mean a deeper, longer-lasting experience and new power gauges in game let you set out exactly your attacking and defensive stances.

For more review, please click this link FIFA 10 vs PES 10

FIFA 10 will be released worldwide on 2 October 2009 while Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 will be released on 23 October 2009

Fufu United Ninja Review

by Han
published by Rinie 21 July 2009

Image

We received a request from 1 of our readers recently to conduct a review about Fufu Ninja, a popular Warcraft 3 map. We even tested the game ourselves to check whether this game is worthy of our time. And luckily for us, this game is simply addictive and we enjoyed ourselves while conducting this review.

The goal of the game is similar to Pudge Wars, which is to reach a certain kill limit faster than everyone else. However, there is an added twist to it- instead of dividing players into teams, this game is purely free-for-all. This leads to fast paced killing and pawning action. There are no complicated item recipes to remember, no ludicrously difficult skill combos to pull off, all you need to do is to hit your enemy and whittle down his single hp to zero.

ImageTiny Panda, packs a powerful punch!

What are the keys to success in this game? Fast fingers, great reactions and a brilliant sense of anticipation are required. I do not know how many kills I racked up by tossing the lovely shuriken toss into the fog of war. Or making your opponent typing ‘wtf’ repeatedly when you give him a surprise attack when he is hiding in the trees. This game can bring loads of fun and laughter, and it does not take a lot of time as it is only a mini game.

This map was nominated in the Garena Map Awards 2009 and you can see why. Overall, this is how the Spotgamers team rates the map:

Gameplay : 4.5/5 –Very entertaining and has great plots. Provides great fun when you are short on time and have a few mates to play with.

Go ahead and try this on Garena, especially if you liked mini games like Pudge Wars or Footmen Frenzy.

WORDTHY: QUAKE 4

Image

What is this? The Spotgamers team is feeling nostalgic and is reviewing an ancient game? Not really. We are here to show you a great game that did not really become a household name in terms of popularity. But for sheer game play fun and excitement, this FPS game deserves the mention and exposure it deserves. So here you go ladies and gentlemen, presenting the old, yet golden Quake 4!

Quake 4, in our opinion, is a top notch FPS game. If you have played it before, take a trip down memory lane with a few of your friends to a local cyber café and have lots of fun with this futuristic game. Blow your friends into pieces with the Railgun in the multiplayer mode, or blast them into smithereens with the Hyperblaster. If this is the 1st time you have heard about this game, head to a local game shop and grab a copy to find out what you have been missing out on.

We believe the graphics and detail for this game is simply magnificent. Notice the detail of your unit when it is being blown to pieces. Or check out the line of fire coming out from your artillery. And don’t forget to notice the movement of your unit as it dodges a stream of lightning speed bullets. Not bad for an ancient game.

The weapons are also pretty fun, especially with the mods you'll get over the course of the game. The single-barrel shotgun is quite powerful -- almost too powerful -- and you can zoom in with the assault rifle scope and squeeze off targeted rounds with semi-automatic fire.

Image

This game is very much a single player game with some nice features, but we believe the multiplayer features are good enough to create hours of fun with your mates. As long as the map is geared towards that number of people, it can be just as much fun as 64-player mayhem. Watch your mates scream in horror as they see their units explode in front of their faces. At any rate, a couple of the maps stand out, particularly Xaero, which takes place in the middle of space and involves platforms and pillars you'll jump to, with nothing but stars below you.

So dear readers, this concludes our review of a favourite old game of ours, Quake 4! For those of you, who have any comments or opinions; feel free to get in touch with us. For the time being, happy shooting!

WORDTHY: THE SIMS 3

by Han
published by Rinie 3 June 2009

Image

I know i know most of you guys think this is a 'girls' game. But hey, its actually very nice and addictive.. especially doing the "Woohoo" with your in-game soul mate... err... anyway so far it has never disappoint our expectation. So with no further due the famous strategic life simulator game is coming soon. Here are the extracted reviews from various sources.

Gamespot: The first thing you may be asking, then, is whether The Sims 3 is worth playing, or if it's just more of the same. Well, it most certainly is worth it, and yes, in some ways it is more of the same. But in this case, that's a very good thing. For anyone who's played The Sims or its first sequel, this familiarity will let them ease into it, feeling like a welcomed guest rather than an outsider. But this doesn't make The Sims 3 a simple rehash of what's come before. Instead, returning elements have been energized and extended by a number of terrific improvements, such as expanded customization tools, additional tools for interaction with other sims (and other players), and more tangible goals and rewards. Most importantly, the free-to-explore town makes you feel like part of an entire virtual society--a feature approximated but never fully realized in the previous games. By blending together the old and the new, developer Maxis has created the best, most charming game yet in the series.

IGN:
As you've probably heard, the big change in The Sims 3 is the fact that it no longer revolves around a single household lot at a time. Your sims can go anywhere in town at any time without pause. This is a very welcome change, because the gameplay doesn't feel claustrophobic anymore; you're no longer spending 95-percent of your time looking at the same house and then having to sit through lengthy loading screens for those moments when you send your sims out into the world. This freedom is pretty liberating; I spent quite a bit of time at first just switching between my characters just to watch the camera pull back on the town and then zoom in on the location of the next character. It doesn't take too long before you get used to the change, and it's hard to imagine how we played The Sims before. Now it seems totally natural to send one sim to the park, while another goes shopping downtown, while another stays at home; you can switch between all three effortlessly and almost instantly. Lives feel more naturally lived this way. You don't even need to worry much if you neglect your sims because they default with a high level of free will; leave them alone and they'll take care of themselves and keep themselves amused. It can be fun just to let go of the mouse, sit back, and watch what they do on their own.

Eurogamer:
For all the changes, it's definitely The Sims. You'd never mistake it for anything else - the way the characters move, talk, wet themselves, their crazed pinging between joy and despair... You'll spend your time trying to increase their skills, their income and their relationships - tiny numbers slowly growing. This is no break with tradition, and yet some of the tiniest changes prove the most profound. Crucially, adjustment of the various happiness factors means your sims aren't trapped in quite so rapid a plunge towards misery and discomfort. They now have the time to make much more of the day than working, eating, sleeping and ablution. And even if cooking pancakes does still mysteriously take an hour, at least you can grab a taxi to work and turn up late.

The Spotgamers team is unable to give our own review of the game as we have not played it yet. However the major game reviewers rate this game at 9/10, so we believe this could be a game worth trying and playing. And if you have loved the sims and its sequel The Sims 2, this is definitely going to be the game for you.

WORDTHY: LEFT 4 DEAD

by Han
published by Rinie Thursday May 21 2009

Image

As a blog which focus on gamers i think no matter what, we cant neglect and avoid talking bout the hottest game in town. So therefore for the 1st time, we will try our best to make a review of selected games which is WORDTHY to be played. But of course the best way for you to know if the game is good or not is to played it. Thats why we will just gonna make our very own review short and simple.

So to start it out, here comes the zombiehhhhhh~

Spotgamers: Left 4 dead is a refreshing game that differs from other first person shooter games thanks to its brilliant graphics and gripping game play. Awareness, reaction and teamwork are very much on the agenda, which is fundamental in all good game titles. Best played with friends, but equally exciting when going solo, this is a game that can promise hours of fun. Certainly a game that is worthy of all the hassle required to play it.

IGN: The game is paced almost perfectly so that you're always pushed to the edge. You'll run low on health. You'll run low on ammo or you'll run out entirely, requiring you to rely on pistols, which have unlimited ammo but aren't as effective as shotguns, assault rifles, and submachine guns. There are pipe bombs and Molotov bombs that you can scavenge, and you can turn propane tanks and gas canisters into weapons. The latter are particularly useful in the many "crescendo" elements in the game. These are points where you must initiate an action in order to open the way forward like having a van drive through a steel fence to open the route. The kicker is that the moment you initiate the action the zombie horde are going to come down on you like a tidal wave. The good news is that you have time to prepare and place down fuel canisters and discuss the battle plan. If a player falls victim to the zombie menace, a respawn mechanism reintroduces them back in the action as another survivor who has been found (though don't ask why the new survivor is exactly the same as the old survivor).

ImageThis Is Only A Game.. Only A Game... Only A Game...

ExtremeTech: Great graphics and game play, and most importantly, little or no story at all, meaning that you jump into the action right away. It's also very easy to get the hang of. There are four weapons, four people, and after you know the ground rules of what you can do and what you shouldn't do, you can easily adapt and have fun. Games like Crysis felt a little gimmicky with all those fancy bells and whistles (character abilities) which really confused me more than entertained me.
Just remember to keep a safe distance from the witch and don't set off car alarms. You'll learn the hard way otherwise.

Kotaku: Substance And Style: The game's deep well of replayability clinches Left 4 Dead's spot on the list of best multiplayer games of the year. It's arguably one of the best multiplayer games of all time. I'm longing to end writing this review and play some more. The game is as pretty as it is playable. Well, it's pretty in its ugliness, with dirty, dark visual effects and gorgeous, understated design. The Source engine may be getting a little long in the tooth, but Valve has tweaked it and polished it to stay graphically competitive.

Gamespot: Left 4 Dead stars four charismatic survivors whose appearances and personalities add an immersive element to the game. They each banter in appropriate, often amusing ways when healthy, and they become more subdued and anxious when injured. The character models are top-notch, and there's nothing quite like looking at the macho biker when he is injured and seeing fear creep across his face as he begins to doubt that he'll survive. Seeing the relief on his face when you heal him is almost as satisfying as the relief you'll feel when your AI allies heal you. Their team spirit doesn't stop there: they'll shout out when the find ammo or health, and, crucially, will pick you up when you've been incapacitated by an enemy.

So there you have it. Remember, our words is just merely guidance but the true way to know the game is to play it. So take your guns and wish you were not the last man standing.

WHY ONLINE GAMES?

by Han
publish by Rinie Tuesday 12 May 2009

ImageImage

According to Comscore, there are a total of 217 million people playing online games worldwide. Does it ever puzzle you why online games are so popular among casual gamers? Do you know the reason? What is the secret of success for games like FIFA Online 2, World of Warcraft and so on? Today we are about to find out.

We conducted our investigation by asking casual gamers what kept them addicted to online gaming. John, who plays FIFA online 2, says the element of surprise in the game such as obtaining player cards makes him want to play the game more. After each match, he has no idea which player card he will receive. Therefore he just tries his luck and hope for the best, which is a really fun part of the game.

Another gamer, Shaun, says online games allow him to play with his friends, a feature that other normal computer games lack. This allows them to interact and have a good time together. Plus they can discuss and work out strategies, which can sometimes help strengthen friendships.

Besides that, online games have been popular because they are easy to learn and play. You do not need hours of guiding or teaching to learn how to play online games. All you need is some patience, some time to spare and good concentration and you have just learnt how to play a new game! Plus most online games are easy to play, but difficult to master…

And finally, Kelvin believes that the addictiveness of the game play makes him and his friends continue to pursue the World of Warcraft, despite its hefty costs. They believe the money spent is worth it if they get tons of fun from they game.

So there you have it, a few practical reasons given by our fellow readers and gamers about the reason why online games are getting more and more popular. Do you have other reasons? Feel free to write in or leave a comment.

MMORPG CHALLENGE: FELDA,School And Angry Treant!

ImageThe Inn. I Wonder If They Have "Special Room Service"

Once again, our journey continue in the World Of Kung Fu!

But this time we have a slight changes in terms of completing our mission quest. Instead of killing mobs or sending some quest stuff, we are now force to gather material by a more conventional method, farming! Basically we started off as kung fu hero and now we are stuck in gathering materials to complete our quest. We are force to cutting grass for herbs, chopping trees for woods and mining for ore. This game really should be used by FELDA instead to promote agriculture as a legitimate business, which is true! In this game, one of the best earliest way to earn money is to gather raw materials, open your own shop and sell it to other players!

Dont believe we spend our time farming? Check this out:

ImageWarning: Cutting Tress In Real Life Is Hazardous To Environment. Dont Try This At Where Eva U Are

This is definitely not a game for environmentally friendly people. But do not worry, the trees will grow back like mushroom after the rain.

Since Triz a.k.a SinisTers(In game nick) is on SPM period as well as waiting for our new 3 friends who wanted to join our journey lvl up, we decided to just play farmer for awhile as well as forging our weapons and armors to make it stronger. It wasnt that hard to forge it but after +4, the forging item have a tendency to break if fail. So its best we keep it to +4 until we are rich enough to afford to keep on breaking our precious item.

Didnt i mention we have 3 new friends? Yup we manage to get 3 new players to join us after we post our previous article here. Since i got NBTD, better i help them lvl up by killing up quest boss, playing a role as big brother and sifu in WOKF(although im jst lvl 22).

ImageHelping Newbies In Their Quest

We started to notice that lvling is getting harder from lvl 20 onwards. With lots of stronger monster reapppear and harder to kill in a mob. We recommend everyone to have a habit to partying after reaching this lvl.

Oh btw since i got NBTD again, i manage to gather all the materials required to form our own school!(another name for guild/clan). Since we are doing some sort of review, so we definitely need to try all the aspect WOKF offer in the game.Check it out below:

ImageFounder Jali To You!

LOL the nice thing about having a school is as usuall school war! With lots of cool exp and items not to mention bragging rights, its something we definitely must try. Though maybe not now since we definitely gonna be squish like flies.

So thats all folks! I end this week journey with some interesting and amazing pics below. Till then, everybody loves kung fu fighting! Huhhhh!

MMORPG Challenge:Everyone loves Kung Fu Fighting!!!

Just a few days back, Spotgamers have decided to do our own MMORPG review to support the MMORPG community in Malaysia. Instead of us compiling review base on rating or from other gamers, we play the game in a different way. We gonna select a random MMORPG, doesnt matter new or old, nice or whacky, we will just grind on it. How we judge the MMORPG is nice or not is base on our articles and the time we gonna spend on it. If we stop playing tomorrow, well you get the point. If we still playing after AT LEAST 1 MONTH, then you must try! So as you can see, we cant lie. At the same time we would like to invite all our readers as well to join the fun as well! We know everyone have their own stuff to do so we decided to just play 2 hrs every nite. Even if you miss 1-2 nite its ok we will still play together. Since its the holiday season and if you guys wanna try something new, why not join us?

The Spotgamers duo decided to embark on another path through our gaming journey. Jali and Tris decided to travel into the world of MMORPG. We decided to go into games which are not so popular among the gaming community in Malaysia and we've decide on the game called World of Kung Fu. However, this game was released in Malaysia in chinese and the duo found the US version.

World of Kung Fu is actually the combination of several types of MMORPG's out there such as World of Warcraft, Silkroad Online and ROSE online. The rating from mmorpg.com is also very promising with users rating the game 7.89 over World of Warcraft's 7.78. This was what tempted to duo to try it.

The game has some of the following features such as professions, dungeons, arena PVP and wedding system. Professions like cooking, blacksmithing, making medicine is available for every player to do. Gathering herbs, wood, ores and meat is also available. Dungeon quest are available daily, where players can do the quest 3 times a day. This is similar to the raid of World Of Warcraft. The arena PVP can also involve the clan or school in this particular game. Wedding system, they have totally no comment on this. Ranking is also available in the game. The Silkroad Online system of hunting thiefs is also here. However players can approach the prison guard or Watchmen and check for who is wanted. You can accept the player you want to hunt and go take him down for money.

In World Of Kung Fu, who have no special job but you have different weapons to choose from and master. The sword is a weapon which is easy to handle but difficult to master. It is a hybrid weapon as one can use it to defend and attack. It is the most versatile weapon in the game. The Hook weapon is the Jack-Of -All-Trades. They can attack, defend, de-buff and heal as well. They can fill into any role and assist as well. The Fan are the master of healing. Without one of this, a team will never function well. The Hammer&Axe is the DPS weapon. A strong damage will result in a weaker defence. That is the Hammer&Axe but it is a need when it comes to boss fights. The Broadsword is the weapon that kills with one shot. They can debuff thier opponents and also deal high damage to thier opponents. The Spear is the easiest class to play and also to level up. Being able to deal damage in an area is totally what a solo player wants. Killing a group of mobs is easy for this weapon. The Staff is the best defender in the game.Their weapon can is like the spear but has a weaker attack and stronger defence. This is a wanted tanker. The Bow has super criticals and a high DPS as well. And as usual, range attackers are weak. Lastly, the fist is the hardest weapon class to play. The Fist users use a lot of Damage over Time spells and their ability to weaken opponents. They are however a weak crowd control.

So the duo embarked on their journey today and they played for a time of 12 HOURS. They did many things on their journey and this are some of the photos from the game by Jali and Tris.

ImageJali (left) and Tris (right) in the game. Tris is a male in real life ok.

The duo is on the US East server and hangs out mostly on the channel Golden Serpant. So do find us and we are willing to guide you through this game. Find Jali or SinisTerz in the game and join in the fun.

Download the client here and lets Kung Fu!

*Jali Note: If you guys would like to join us and have fun together, just email to me or add me in msn at [email protected].
