Back to the subject of the post though, we had always promised K when she went #2 in the potty she would be rewarded with a trip to Chuck E. Cheese. For some reason I thought this would be a long time in the making (I guess just from stories I've heard from friends about poop stage fright). But after one day of full-fledged potty push, K made boom boom in the potty on Saturday. And I wasn't even here to see it! Scott noticed she was hiding as she usually does, so he confronted her and got her excited to sit on the potty and try and sure enough she went. Twice! And immediately demanded to go to Chuck E. Cheese, we had to hold her off until Sunday after church. See pics below of her favorite part of the trip - the Barney ride. Now I'm by no means claiming that we are done potty training. I'm sure there will be regressions and such, but she's kept her pullups dry for the past 2 days and gone #2 in the potty several times since then, so I think we are well on our way. It's like everyone said, once they "get it," they get it.

POOP!
For the record, Scott titled this post. These past few days we have made the push on potty training. The more I thought about it, the more it was me holding up the whole process and that's not really fair to Kaitlin. To be perfectly honest, it's easier for her to be in diapers. No reminding about going to the potty, no washing our hands 10,000 times a day, no battles over which color M&M she should get, overall it's just much more convenient to have her in diapers. As a matter of fact, with an infant around who doesn't care to be put down, it'd probably be easier for ME to be in diapers too, but I think that might be construed as weird. But what pushed me over the edge was when Johanna asked last week "So are you trying to potty train at all?" Nothing like brutal honesty from a 3rd party to kick you into gear. Johanna was good about putting her in pullups and taking her to the potty, so I guess the competitor in me came out too.
