About the challenge
We invite you to bridge the gap between Computer Science and Medicine. The healthcare sector is facing massive challenges, and we believe the best solutions come from combining technical skills with medical expertise.
Who we are: We are a group of students from different universities across Germany. Our judges for this hackathon are from TUM, LMU, and the University of Augsburg.
The Goal: We are looking for the most innovative, impactful, and feasible ideas in the medical field. Whether it is an App, a Software Tool, an AI-based solution, or Hardware, everything is welcome as long as it brings value to patients, doctors, clinics, or the healthcare system.
Get started
Here is how to prepare for the weekend:
-
Form Your Team: The best innovations happen at the intersection of different fields. You can join solo and find a team at the kickoff, or bring your own squad. Your team could consist of medics, developers, designers, or anyone else you think could help you.
-
Focus on Impact: We don't just want "cool tech"; we are looking for solutions that solve specific pain points.
-
Prepare Your Tools: Ensure you have access to your preferred collaboration tools (Discord, Figma, IDEs).
-
Join the Community: Connect with us on LinkedIn to stay updated.
Requirements
What to Build
You must build a prototype, concept, or tool that addresses a specific problem in the medical or healthcare sector. This can be:
-
Software: Mobile apps, web platforms, AI models, or data analysis tools.
-
Hardware: IoT devices, sensors, or medical equipment concepts (simulated or modeled).
What to Submit
To be eligible for judging, your project page on Devpost must be submitted by the deadline. We evaluate how complete, clear, and well-thought-out your idea is.
Required: Project Description (The 9 Points) Please answer the following points in your project description. Concise answers are fine, but the more points you cover, the better your score:
-
Description of the Idea: What is your solution? What specific problem in the medical field does it solve?
-
Target Group: Who is this for? (e.g., Patients, Doctors, Nurses, Clinics, Insurance, Labs).
-
Features & Functions: What are the central functions? What technology is used? (e.g., AI, Machine Learning, Telemedicine, Sensor data).
-
Value Proposition & USP: Why is this helpful? How does it differ from existing tools? What makes it unique or more efficient?
-
Visualization: Show us what it looks like. Include a Mockup, Sketch, Wireframe, or Figma link.
-
User Feedback: Did you validate this? Include short opinions or feedback from at least a few people in your target group.
-
Business Model: How could this be economically viable? (e.g., Freemium, B2B License, Subscription, Insurance reimbursement).
-
Implementation & Feasibility: How can this be implemented technically and organizationally? What are the next steps for a prototype?
-
Data Requirements: Does your solution need data (Vital signs, images, labs)? How do you ensure DSGVO/GDPR compliance and data security?
Optional but Recommended:
-
Demo Video: A short video (max 3 mins) pitching your idea or showing the prototype.
-
Source Code: A link to your GitHub/GitLab repository.
