Took the time over lunch to go and play tennis with my son. This is a first for me, booking a court, going out to do some exercise that isn't solitary in nature. It rained, we had fun. We'll be doing this again.

At some point (2020) Thunderbird stopped using Enigmail. Native support for GPG doesn't (easily) allow you to use sub-keys stored on a Yubikey for signing or encryption. It is possible to tell Thunderbird to use one external key but this doesn't work if you have separate sub-keys for both signing and encryption.

This shows how to create and export a temporary key containing both the signing and encryption keys for use in Thunderbird.

Today I learned how to change the default camera on MacOS. Open Photo Booth, change the camera, quit Photo Booth and you are done. Seems to have worked so far. But quite why Photo Booth became the interface for hardware settings on the Mac I have no idea.

Weird Web October has really sucked me in. I thought I'd complete a couple of days and give up but it has been fun, too much fun.

A sustained summer of limited exercise meant it was always going to be difficult to feel ready for that September 10km. It took a chest infection and the inability to exercise for more than a few minutes for me to make peace with the fact that I was going to miss the race. But today I managed to get back up to a reasonable distance: 6km 🏆. It was worth the effort.
