2 Year-Old Pictures
I finally took some 2 year-old pictures of Honor. And a few of Caedmon. I haven’t had time to edit them yet, but I wanted to post some, because, my goodness these kids are cute.
I started with Honor. She was a m.e.s.s.
But so stinking cute.
This is the birthday outfit I made for her. I still love it.
I got a few pictures of Caedmon, too.
He’s growing so much!
We’re practicing for senior pictures with the angst. (He was upset that Honor was throwing sticks off the bridge while he was being tortured in front of the camera lens.)
And of course, I had to get some shots of them together. Which sounds much easier than it is. Really.
Finally, they sat still for a nano-second.
I think it’s safe to say that Honor was feeling sassy that day.
Seriously? This cracks me up.
I can’t say it enough. I love how much these two adore each other. Sure, they fuss. But they don’t just love each other, they actually like each other. I’m so blessed by these kids and am thankful to be their Mom.

iPhone Photo Dump
To say we’ve been busy lately is true, but it also makes me sound like a broken record. And remember the other day when I said I had been a horrible picture-taker during July? The same is true even with my phone. But I did find a few fun things to share while I was going through my phone. So, here’s what we’ve been up to.
Some friends from home moved to our area and we met at the zoo to hang out together.
We also took the opportunity to introduce them to some yummy food.
Honor not only got a new baby, but a purse as well.
Caedmon attended VBS for the first time and had a blast. Staying true to the “I’m a complete slacker during July,” I forgot the big camera at home. He’s on the front row in the camo hat.
Yes, my child is one of two children who are wearing hats at their VBS performance. It wasn’t worth the fight.
Oz caught some rays.
I promise he’s not dead. He just enjoys the sunshine on his belly.
Inspired by Trump, I made one of PW’s Flat Apple Pies. It was delicious.
Honor got some new shoes. She loves them. I’m not sure who’s more excited about her getting to wear them – her or me! Taking that girl shoe shopping was an adventure, to say the least.
After a long week, we decided to let Caedmon stay up late to watch the Olympic Opening Ceremonies. We didn’t get started until 9pm or so, and this is what he thought of the whole thing.
Y’all know it has to be bad if my child fell asleep. He got to see a little of the parade of nations before he nodded off. The games have been much more interesting.
We (gladly) sat in line for some Freedom of Speech chicken.
We tried on our outfits (that I selected months ago) for family photos. I adore Honor’s.
And when I tried my dress on? Found this.
Yes, that’s a cut. Or rip. In the front of a brand new dress. That I bought months ago and can’t return. So mild panic ensued and after talks about how/if it could be repaired, Husband told me to go shopping. I’d been looking for months for something to wear instead (because I’m not a “dress girl”) and hadn’t found anything just right. Last night I found it. I did have to have the guy in the store take the item off a mannequin, but I am not above that. Because pictures are this weekend and I didn’t have time to mess around.
Yesterday afternoon, we played outside. I love that these two love each other and play together so well – most of the time.
And last night, I got to go on a Starbucks date with Husband. It’s amazing how you can solve the problems of the world over coffee (or white hot chocolate in my case).
This weekend holds some family time, more Olympics, and family pictures. Which should probably be an Olympic sport in itself. I hope our photographer is in shape!

Honor’s 1 Year Pictures
Since Honor is 14 months old, I figure it’s time to post her 1 year pictures. But since they were taken on our recent trip home, I’m really not that late. Right?
Right.
Humor me.
Without further adieu, here’s my girl!
I got a smash cake at Rick’s Bakery. (You might recall that we have a special affection for Rick’s.) It was adorable. And perfect.
By the time we got to the smash cake photos, Honor was tired. And about pictured out. But I think we still got some good shots!
This look on her face cracks me up.
“Uh-oh, Mom. I got icing on my toe.”
“And maybe there’s more now. On purpose.”
“Maybe it’ll taste better off my toes.”
“Ok, I’ll go ahead and try it straight off the cake.”
“Or just play with it.”
I love this girl!

Cousins
As promised, here are more of the pictures we took with the cousins.
We started with the boys. They didn’t sit still for long.
But I did manage to get Q by himself.
And then we let the boys go play with Deputy Guy while Curly, Trump, and I wrangled the little girls.
Aren’t they the sweetest little things?
A sweet man at our church hand-made this rocking chair for our family when Curly and I were little. It’s seen a lot of wear and tear over the years, but it’s held up well and it was super sweet to be able to photograph our girls with this chair. Honor was a little partial to it.
Cousin E is off exploring, and Honor wasn’t willing to leave the chair behind.
Also? E looks just like her Momma!
We did manage to get a few shots of everyone together.
They all sat still for a few seconds.
But it didn’t last long.
I’m just glad they love each other.
Cousins are special.
