Enhance your brand deal profile with Creator Insights Sharing

Creators can enable insights sharing in YouTube Studio. This will enhance the available data for advertisers as they search for creators for brand deals, making it easier for brands to find you. In addition, sharing your channel insights can increase earning potential from ads and the YouTube shopping affiliate program. Learn how to turn on channel insights sharing.

Note: You might still be discoverable by brands even when this setting is turned off. However, having this additional information will improve your visibility in creator search and help brands select creators best suited for their campaign goals.

Manage YouTube BrandConnect

Note: Your experience on BrandConnect can differ based on your country or region.

Creators that are eligible for BrandConnect may receive inquiries from brands through the BrandConnect tab and offline through email or their social handles. We recommend that creators verify their contact information is up to date:

Set your preferences

Creators can update their brand deal preferences, including preferred rates for long-form videos and Shorts brand deals, as well as a secondary business contact email.

The business contact email is designed for a talent agent or manager that the creator wants to receive inquiries as well. When inquiries are received through the BrandConnect tab, creators will receive a notification on mobile and web, an email to their primary account email, and a secondary email to their business contact email.

  1. Go to the Earn section of YouTube Studio.
  2. Select the BrandConnect tab.
  3. Under “Preferences,” select Set suggested price or Business contact email.

Campaign inquiry

The “Campaign inquiry” section will outline the details for inquiries received through the BrandConnect tab.

All campaigns will have information about:

  • Brand: The brand name associated with this campaign's inquiry.
  • Earn: The amount of money you can potentially earn for this deal. Be aware that these amounts are provided by the advertiser and are not meant to be confused with final offers, consider this a piece of information for your deal negotiation.
  • About (brand): A high-level overview of the brand.
  • Brand website: Link to the brand's website.

Some campaigns will also have information about:

  • Partnership details: An overview of the campaign and the product or service from the brand. This section will include any ideas the brand wants you to share with viewers and the action the brand wants you to encourage viewers to perform.
  • Payment: The contract and payment terms for this campaign. Please work with the advertiser or agency directly.
  • Campaign goals: An overview of the campaign and the product or service from the brand. This section will include any ideas the brand wants you to share with viewers and the action the brand wants you to encourage viewers to perform.
  • Deliverables: What you must deliver to the brand for the campaign.
  • Talking points: The key messaging advertisers and agencies want featured in the campaign content.
  • Campaign call to actions: Ensure the campaign effectively communicates the desired call to action.
  • Product information: Details on the product that the campaign is about.

Responding to inquiries

YouTube BrandConnect tab

If you receive a deal directly from a brand through the BrandConnect tab, you can perform the following actions on that inquiry:

  • Interested: If you select interested, we will share your contact details with the brand so they can contact you to negotiate a deal. When you confirm your interest, you can also add details to your confirmation, like contact preferences, which can help the brand know how best to contact you. To proceed with a deal, you will negotiate and sign an agreement directly with the brand, and you will be paid by the brand. Make sure you understand the terms of any agreement(s) you sign with a brand; you may wish to consult a legal professional.
  • Not interested: If you choose Not interested, we will let the brand know you don't want to proceed with a discussion.

Sharing brand partner access during brand deal video upload or edit

If you’ve partnered with an advertiser on a brand campaign, the advertiser may request that you share brand partner access to the video with them during upload or edit. Learn more about brand partner access.

Creators can share brand partner access by:

  • Initiating brand partner access (creator-initiated): Creators can establish a brand partner access request with a brand during video upload or edit by 1) selecting a reported brand deal (any creator) or 2) searching for a brand (only YPP creators).
  • Accepting a brand partner access request from the brand (brand-initiated): After video upload, brands can send a request to associate their Google Ads account to the relevant video.

We encourage creators to respond to requests from brands you have existing partnerships with. This helps them measure sponsored content performance and allows them to use the video in partnership ad campaigns if boosting has been negotiated as part of the campaign.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I work with YouTube BrandConnect?

Right now, YouTube BrandConnect is only available to YPP creators in the available countries/regions. If you’re eligible, the BrandConnect tab will surface automatically in the earn tab in YouTube Studio. We’re hoping to roll this feature out to more creators and countries/regions soon.

Can agents or managers use the YouTube BrandConnect on behalf of the creators?

Yes, creators could configure the business contact email in their BrandConnect preferences. This will allow the agent or manager to receive a copy of all inquiries. Creators can also add agents or managers as authorized users to have them manage deals for them directly in YouTube Studio.

Should I approve a brand partner access request from a brand to my video?

If you’ve partnered with a brand, the brand may send you a request to share the video from the campaign to their Google Ads account. It’s entirely up to you whether or not you accept the advertiser’s request and you should always do what’s best for your channel. Learn about creator-initiated video linking.
If you accept the share request, the advertiser can view the content’s organic performance metrics in Google Ads and use linked videos in their advertising. Learn more about how to link your branded content to an advertiser.

What other ways can I upload my video for brand deals?

If your inquiry includes an “Campaigns videos” section, you can alternatively upload your video that way. Once you’ve accepted a brand deal, you can work on the content for your campaign. The “Campaign videos” section outlines next steps for you to upload your content, as Unlisted, and submit one or more videos to the brand for review and approval. If the brand has any feedback, you will get an email with your brand partner’s comments.

In addition to brand reviews, your content is also reviewed against Google Ads policies and Community Guidelines. Once your content is fully approved, you get an email and status update in YouTube Studio. You can publish your content right away, or schedule when you want it to go live. Make sure you publish according to the timeline you agreed to with the brand.

How do I turn off BrandConnect?
