OFFICIAL Card - Austria

Claudia writes to me saying she visits Vienna a few times a year. While she sent this great map of the subway system or U-Bahn as it is known, she prefers the trams when she is there. Great map card and beautiful stamps too.

Greetings from Austria - Direct Swap with Rosmarie

How does the saying go - two steps forward, one step back - that is how I am feeling with my Greetings from collection. No sooner do I get connected with people to swap and then new countries are issued. It seems each issue they are getting harder and harder too! This card from Rosmarie shows Austria. Lots of new info for me, I love learning little bits of trivia like this.

OFFICIAL Card - Austria

Not everyday a card from Austria arrives. Anna sent this fun card showing many different views of Austria. Pretty country! The text translates to "Greetings from Austria".

Random Act of Smiliness - Nina from Austria

Nina and I have done a few swaps via a Facebook group we both belong to. The last card she sent did not arrive and to be honest I really was OK with it. I knew we would do more swaps in the future and things would all work out in the long run. I was very surprised when she sent this lovely Christmas card to me. Maybe she felt bad her last card went astray, maybe she just likes me. Who knows, it was most welcomed.

OFFICIAL Card - Austria

Berta lives in Austria and sent this multi-view of the Muhl Viertel region. Looks very pretty and diverse. I don't know if this area is really small or what, but any of the images I am trying to learn more about as referenced on the back are not coming up with many hits. Maybe it is my German LOL!

OFFICIAL Card - Austria

Last August, I received my first card from Austria. Danubia from Vienna sent me this action packed multi-view. I do not have many of these "mini-square" cards but they are yet another style of card that many Postcrossers collect. The only drawback I find is it does not indicate what the various buildings are on the back and trying to google them all is a bit of a needle in a haystack. I was able to find that the lower right corner is Schoenbrunn Palace.

OFFICIAL Card - Austria

Vienna was always my Mom's favourite city. This card put a smile on my face when I received it mid-October as I could recall her telling me stories of her "big European vacation". Tina certainly picked out a great multi-view for me. The card also features a variation of the Austrian flag, one that is used in state, war and naval ensign.
