How our projection model works: It incorporates each team’s TRACR, which calculates an expected run differential per 27 outs that is used to simulate the remaining schedule and produce our probabilities. TRACR normalizes team performance based on how good a team is relative to league averages. That’s done by measuring a team’s effectiveness at producing and preventing runs to calculate how many runs per nine innings better or worse teams are compared to the league-average club during the season. Our predictions are updated after every game throughout the season.
