Microprocessor Knee Technology (MPK) - C-Leg and Compact Information - Product Review

Who Can Benefit Most From Microprocessor Knee Technology?

The C-Leg has been created for people that can be more active and who can take advantage of its dynamic swing control and multiple user modes. On the other hand, the Compact (also made by Otto Bock) is a leg that is better for individuals that are less active but need stability for daily activities.

The C-Leg is appropriate for individuals that are transfemoral amputees. This also includes those people with bilateral limb deficiencies or even hip disarticulation amputations. If you are, or you know someone that wants to be more involved in activities that require a high level of stance stability then the C-Leg is also a consideration. - What does this mean in English? - A high level of stance stability refers to those individuals that are going to walk or have the potential to walk on ground that is uneven. Individuals that need to walk on uneven terrain, frequently descend stairs or negotiate slopes will need more stability during the stance phase of their gait because the whole idea is for the amputee to avoid falls.

Kindle Reader - WiFi - With New E Ink Pearl Technology - Review

Kindle is the product that has the most 5-star ratings on Amazon.com, and the new Kindle wireless reader will only bring in more of these ratings. I think PC Magazine has described it right by saying that "it's the best dedicated ebook reader you can buy."

The first thing you will notice after holding the device is its weight. Weighing just 8.5 ounces, the reader is lighter than a paperback and can be easily used for lengthy periods of reading. It is also slimmer than previous generation products, with a thickness of just 1/3 inches.

The display screen is of the same size (6" diagonal) as previous Kindles but the picture quality has improved. The visibility is great even in bright sunlight. The new Kindle uses a high-contrast, diagonal E Ink Screen with Pearl Technology. According to the Amazon, the new technology improves the contrast by 50 percent. The fonts have also improved - they are crispier and darker than before. Another quality of the E Ink Screen is lesser glare compared to LCDs. The reason for this, according to Amazon, is that the E Ink surface is treated to be matte similar to a printed page.

The Wi-Fi reader provides quick service - you can download your books in under a minute. There is also a Web-Kit based browser that you can use to browse the web through your Wi-Fi, but this feature is still experimental. Free Wi-Fi access is available at AT&T hotspots throughout the country.

Kindle provides you access to more than 900,000 books, along with audiobooks, periodicals and blogs. Most of the books are under $10. If you are looking from some free books, then you can download the out-of-copyright books. Kindle has more than 1.8 million of these books. A new addition is the 50,000+ audiobooks provided by Audible.com.

A very good feature of Kindle is the online backup. The books you buy from the Kindle Store are added to your Kindle library, from where you can download them for free when you want. You can also read these books on other devices that you may use, such as iPhone, PC, Mac, and BlackBerry.

A really useful feature is the addition of real page numbers taken from the paperback versions. This makes it easy cite pages. Another new feature that you will find is book lending. Those who like to share your books with others will be able to lend eligible Kindle books for a period of 14 days. A feature that is scheduled to be available later in the year is Kindle Library lending. With this facility, you will be able to check out a Kindle book from your local library and read it on any Kindle/ free Kindle app.

The new Kindle, Graphite, Wi-Fi, 6" Display with New E Ink Pearl Technology is available for $114, when you buy it with special offers. You can also set screensavers by downloading a free app called the Amazon AdMash. The special offers will appear directly on your home screen and the Kindle screensaver and may include gift cards, discount vouchers, book-purchase deals, etc.

Tan Thin Review - Liposome Technology in Cellulite Reduction

Tan Thin is the easy way out to cut down the flab and cellulites. It is available in the creamy form and penetrates through subcutaneous layer in the skin, by employing the successful liposome technology. The product holds powerful active ingredients, which get through the skin layer and deep inside the fatty tissues. The fat cells are forced to release the lipid particles, so that the fat cells are deflated, just like the balloons. The components are potential to shrink the fat cells to a significant level, not only without affecting the skin layer but bring smoother, healthier and shiny skin.

The makers of Tan Thin claim to remove about 4 inches of circumference in the waistline, over a period of 11 weeks, with liposome technology. This claim has been proved in quite a lot of positive reviews presented in the medical journals. Tan Thin can facilitate improvements in the exterior manifestation of the body parts that are affected by fat settlement. You are supposed to massage with it twice a day, morning and evening, respectively.

Review: FutureHype: The Myths Of Technology

In an age where there is considerable hype about the wonders of modern technology, Bob Seidensticker prods us to take a step back and put everything into a more realistic perspective or as he most aptly states, we should vaccinate ourselves against hype.

Seidensticker's principal theme in FutureHype: The Myths Of Technology Change is that the pace of technological change does not increase exponentially. According to Seidensticker, although we may be living in an era of fast change, this does not imply that we are the only ones to have experienced this phenomenon. In earlier times people had their own examples of fast change and to discover if our times are really unique, it is necessary that today's social change be compared to that of the past. In fact, as Seidensticker warns us, "the popular perception of modern technology is inflated and out of step with reality."

This new technology is beginning to appear on the market and may be coming to a living room near you or maybe even your own. The top manufactures are now releasing the new 3D televisions to the public in 2010.

You probably know a little about 3D viewing. Some of us remember in the late 50's seeing movie films which required special glasses that you put on and the film took on a different look. It was very exciting as the action seemed to be coming towards you. Even with the film Avatar, that won a couple of Oscars in 2010, you need special glasses which were included in the admission price at the movie theater. So if you saw the movie you have already had a taste of the 3D movie experience.
