Diva's Weekly Challenge #152

Hi Everyone,

The Diva's weekly challenge was quite a challenge for me. The challenge this week asked us to move out of our comfort zone and try Aquafleur, a new tangle from Rick & Maria. The first few times I practiced it, mine looked nothing like Maria's. Although still not looking entirely like Maria's Aquafleur, I am happy with my results for this weeks challenge.

Zendala Dare #88

Well, hello everyone

It's been a very busy week. I took my first Zentangle class on Tuesday night, with four enthusiast, friendly students. We had a wonderful time.

It's finally finished. My Zendala dare for this week.

I do so enjoy completing these dares when I have time.

Zendala Dare #87

What is a Zendala Dare?

You may have seen the link button on my page.

Some of you may be unfamiliar with this term, so here is a link to Erin Koetz Olson page describing the history behind this weekly dare. Erin is the founder of this weekly challenge.

Why not challenge yourself, if you have not already done so. The dares are fun to complete and it's very interesting to see the different results people come up with.

This is my Zendala for weekly challenge #87

Welcome 2014!

Welcome one and all to my blog, The Tangled Way.

All my life I knew I had no artistic talent. I could never draw anything better than stick figures and art classes were always a nightmare for me, knowing my results would look awful when compared to everyone elses. Over the years I have dabbled in different art forms but deep inside there was always a feeling of frustration.

Then in 2013 I stumbled upon an art form I had not heard of before.  It's called Zentangle®

Researching on the internet I read how anyone could create beautiful pieces of art using the Zentangle method. It is described as "an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun method to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns (www.zentangle.com). I decided to give it a go. I have been blown away by the ease of creating works of art where I am proud to say, "I did that!", and that frustration I was feeling has gone away.

So keen was I to learn more, I packed my bags with only 3 weeks notice, and went to America to attend a Zentangle seminar with Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas, the founders of Zentangle.  I am now a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT).For me Zentangle has provided an avenue for me to explore my creativity and now I want to share it with anyone who is willing to learn more about Zentangle and give it a go. Hence the reason for this blog.

Welcome to 2014 and a great year for tangling!
