About
Many of you may be wondering where the name Maudie came from, and some of you already know. Due to privacy, I didn’t want my name in blog or website address, so I chose the name given to me by Noah – Maudie. For the first 21 months of his life, I was Mama. I was referred to by others as Mama, I referred to myself as Mama, and even Noah called me Mama when he began talking. For some reason unknown to anyone, he occasionally started calling me Maudie a couple of months ago. Slowly but surely, Mama phased out and I am now Maudie to him. I don’t know how long this will last; I imagine he will call me Mama again in the future as behaviors, actions, and all those cute little “things” they do so quickly change in these tender and precious first years. And when he calls me “Mama” or “Mom” or whatever he prefers at the age of twelve, I will be reminded of the two-year-old Noah that used to call me Maudie whenever I post on this blog. And in that is the reason for this blog…so friends and family can walk with me through all those changes in the lives of me, my boys, and my wonderful husband.

Hmmmmm….I remember a few years back when I was known as Grandma Susan and then Jacob started calling me Susu. I think he was about two. It didn’t change. Now 5 of the 6 grandkids call me Susu. And I’m sure the 6th will when she can talk.
Watch out – Maudie may stick 😉
How cute. I was definitely wondering!
My little brother-seven years younger than me, called me ‘Bobby’ because he couldn’t get out my full name-Rebekah or even Becky. Now, when he has something sweet to say, or is trying to butter me up at age 24, he’ll pull out ‘Bobby’ again. It’s pretty cute.
