Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a professional grasp of double-entry principles, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial records.
- Assist in the compilation of monthly, quarterly, and yearly management accounts along with related tasks as required.
- Communicate effectively with clients to address queries, provide updates, and deliver high-quality service.
- Perform advanced bookkeeping tasks and data entry, maintaining compliance with accounting standards and procedures.
- Conduct bank reconciliations, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring timely updates.
- Prepare and review VAT and tax returns for submission, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
- Support in business consultancy engagements, contributing insights and recommendations for client growth and optimisation.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering a learning-oriented environment.
- Stay updated with industry changes and implement best practices in accounting and financial operations.
Requirements and skills
Essential:
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
- Completed or currently undergoing the final stages of ACCA or an equivalent qualification.
- Fluency in both Maltese and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Xero.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet deadlines.
- A positive attitude and commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
Desirable:
- Experience with Odoo is an advantage.
- Tech-savvy, with an interest in leveraging technology for process improvement.
