Canadian Mental Health Association, Alberta Division and Centre for Suicide Prevention (CMHA AB + CSP) work to further community mental health and suicide prevention across the province.
Together with CMHA Regions and our partners, we’re building an Alberta where people’s wellbeing is supported in their community – by a friend, a peer, a support group, their local CMHA office, or the medical system.
Our work
Buddy Up
Buddy Up empowers men to drive authentic conversations with their buddies to promote mental health and prevent suicide.
Caregiver Connections
Peer-to-peer family support program for parents and caregivers of individuals with mental health concerns.
Centre for Suicide Prevention
We equip people with the skills and knowledge to respond to people who are thinking about suicide.
Healthy Campus Alberta
A community of practice for students and anyone working on campus or in mental health who is interested in coming together to transform campus culture.
Mental health workshops
In-person and virtual workshops to build a mentally healthier workplace.
OSI-CAN
Community based peer support groups for military, first responders, and public safety personnel experiencing occupational stress injuries and their families.
Recovery College
A wide range and variety of free recovery-focused courses designed for individuals, families, the workplace, and cultural and spiritual communities.
Run for Life
A journey from darkness into light to remember loved ones lost to suicide and raise awareness for prevention.
Rural Mental Health Network
A province-wide initiative empowering rural communities to address mental health in ways that reflect their unique strengths, needs, and values.
