Biography
Apple Sauce is an Italian experimental metal band formed in 2016. Blending intricate rhythms, electronic textures, and progressive metal energy, the band stands out for its bold approach to songwriting and its ability to merge chaos and melody into a coherent, emotional experience.
Their debut album, Apple Sauce 出鱈目, was composed and recorded over the following years and mixed and mastered by Federico Ascari (Within Destruction, Prospective, Defamed, Naska, and more). In late 2019, the band signed with Famined Records (Los Angeles), releasing several singles that led up to the album’s official release on September 2020.
Since then, Apple Sauce have shared the stage with a wide range of artists from the international metal and progressive scene, including Paledusk, The Contortionist, Ralph Salati (Destrage), The Voynich Code, Asymmetric Universe, and Folkstone.
In June 2021, the band independently released their experimental single “deez_nugget:”, featuring collaborations with classical musicians from around the world — including Fabrizio Buzzi, Daniel Zaera, Javier Caruda Ortiz, Gioia Gedicks, Tommaso De Bortoli, the band Breethoven, and Italian trap artist brrradpitt.
Later that year, Apple Sauce released the single “Alexa” via Famined Records, further establishing their genre-defying identity.
The summer of 2022 saw the band embark on their first DIY European tour, performing across Italy, Spain, Hungary, Germany, and Switzerland, featuring session vocalist Andrea Olivieri (Nekomata, Alogon) and collaborating with various local booking agencies and artists.
In 2023, a new chapter began with a refreshed lineup: Alberto Mezzanotte (drums, Aexylium, Nekomata) and Leonardo Jelo (lead vocals) joined founding members Luca Perrone (guitar) and Loris Menichetti (bass).
In August 2024, the band released the single GATORAGE, marking the first official release with their new lineup.
In December 2024, Apple Sauce officially joined the BAM Booking roster.
Beyond their main project, members Luca Perrone (guitar) and
Alberto Mezzanotte (drums) have also performed at Dong Open Air 2024 with Aexylium, while Alberto previously toured Europe with Dragonforce in 2020 as part of his former band Frozen Crown.

- Apple Sauce had their first European tour in 2022. They performed in Italy, Germany, Hungary, Spain and Switzerland
