What is Assembly?

Assembly is a PowerBI-based collection of dashboards and reports specifically designed for multi-academy trusts, providing in-depth analysis of data on attendance, achievement, behaviour and much more.

Assembly was originally founded in 2015, inspired by challenges trust leaders were facing with data quality. The solution was to pull data directly from each school’s MIS, ensuring consistency and standardisation across the organisation so comparisons are fair and meaningful.

Today, Assembly is part of VenturEd Solutions UK, along with a range of solutions designed to support trusts and schools with improving parental engagement, simplifying school data management and taking meaningful steps towards better outcomes for students.

Who is Assembly designed for?

Assembly is designed to be used by multi-academy trust leadership teams. It makes life easier for anyone working in a MAT who needs to measure performance across multiple schools. The dashboards and reports are optimised for MATs based on our team’s experience and continuous customer feedback.

How does Assembly get the school data?

Assembly integrates with Xporter, which connects to every major MIS provider in the UK market. The Xporter connection syncs daily to pull the latest information in a standardised format, meaning Assembly can combine the data for every school in a trust, regardless of which MIS is used in each case. Assembly also offers direct integrations with selected third parties (such as CPOMS) to provide additional data.

Can’t I just make my own dashboards?

You could, but Assembly exists so that you don’t have to. We’ve already handled the critical step of collecting all the data from every MIS, and we’re always working to develop those integrations further. We also make regular changes to align with DfE guidance, which saves you from worrying about that.

The fact that Assembly is built using PowerBI means it uses familiar Microsoft technology, but your trust can avoid the significant overhead costs associated with that, and you don’t need to maintain the entire platform yourself. When we make improvements to Assembly based on customer feedback, all our trusts get to benefit from those changes.

Do you offer other products for multi-academy trusts?

Yes, we do. VenturEd Solutions provides a whole range of products for schools which are ideal to deploy at trust level. Examples include our parental engagement platforms Teachers2Parents and Groupcall, and payments systems SchoolMoney and WisePay. We also offer a SEND-specialist MIS, SchoolPod. Our free parent mobile app (Eduspot) connects to all of these systems.
