I wrote the bones of this song in October 2023 while in New Orleans. We recorded this in our practice space in Oklahoma a couple weeks after we started playing together in late 2025.

You can play it however you want. You're bound to get burned at a certain point. Tell it like it is, and don't be shy. When the bastards come, just look 'em in the eye. 'Cause they want you scared, preoccupied, and unprepared for this great big world. Don't matter who you are, the journey's hard on us all on this great big world.

Every dog has its day, and we got a few who just won't seem to go away. Barking at people who just want to get by; they make so much noise 'cause they want us quiet, but you don't give up. Can't get caught up on that little stuff in this great big world. Don't matter what they take; we will make better days on this great big world.

Life gets so confusing. "Unprecedented times." Life gets so confusing. A.I., oh, why?!

You can run away from what you don't understand, or you can look around and try to lend a hand. You do your best, but you can't keep up with the pace they set before you showed up. It's a hard crying shame. The money tells you who to blame in this great big world. Don't matter who you've been, you can try again. Let's get cooking on this great big world.
