OUR MISSION: Bridging empowers people to thrive in their homes by providing quality furniture and household goods for those pursuing housing stability.
OUR VALUES: Dignity, Service, Partnership, Stewardship, Excellence, and Gratitude
CLIENTS SERVED: More than 5,300 households are served per year; more than 40% of the individuals we serve are children under 17 years of age. 86% of clients have a household annual income of less than $25,000 per year. (Based on 2025 statistics.)
VOLUNTEERS: Thousands of individual and group volunteers donate service hours each year.
DIVERSITY, EQUITY, INCLUSION, & BELONGING: At Bridging, we value unique backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences, ensuring that everyone- clients, volunteers, staff, board, donors, agency and community partners – feel that they are welcome and are a part of the Bridging community. We value the dignity and inclusion of gender, race, ethnicity, religion, abilities, sexual orientation, life experiences, or any other identities, and seek to learn and celebrate differences. We believe that creating an inclusive environment based on respect, trust, and service is integral to how we serve clients, support the team, and achieve our mission. Read our full statement here.

Through the efforts of a small team of paid staff, over 4,000 volunteers, and more than 200 social services agencies primarily in the Twin Cities 7-county area, Bridging is able to serve approximately 14,000 individuals each year. Like spokes on a wheel, Bridging represents one part of the process for an individual or family to build a fresh start.
At Bridging, it is very important to us that the clients’ experience is dignified from the moment they arrive at our warehouse to the moment their home is furnished with hope. Our team of staff and volunteers is committed to ensuring the items they bring home are safe, clean, and in good working condition. Our team carefully inspects gently used donated furniture and housewares as they enter our warehouse to ensure they meet our quality standards.
As families face the exhausting challenge of finding affordable housing, employment, education, and health care, they are left with severely limited resources to furnish their homes. A furnished home environment is a basis for improved job performance, better grades in school, and healthy family interactions. By relieving the pressure to purchase furnishings, Bridging services provide families with a comfortable home, which allows them to focus on other crucial matters in their lives.
