Sam Menzin is a sports executive, entrepreneur, and baseball advisor known for combining analytics, operations, and leadership across professional and collegiate baseball. As founder and CEO of Campus Edge Baseball, he built a recruiting platform and advisory service that helps student-athletes navigate the college recruiting process through personalized guidance and data-driven strategy. He developed recruiting tools, including athlete profiles, coach and school databases, school-match applications, and structured recruiting resources. He oversees sales, marketing, website development, social media, client onboarding, analytics, video optimization, coach relationships, and NCAA compliance. Sam also serves as an analyst with Woods Capital and leads SJM Sports, advising investors and ownership groups evaluating sports assets, team acquisitions, and operational opportunities. His interest in baseball strategy began after reading Moneyball as a teenager, helping shape his career direction. During college, he played four years of varsity baseball and earned the 2012 Centennial Conference Sportsmanship Award. He also worked as an Assistant Director at a pitching development facility, managing biomechanics operations, pitching camps, and video analysis. Menzin\s early experience included internships with the New York Mets, Turner-Gary Sports, and the Detroit Tigers. These roles exposed him to sales, baseball operations, arbitration preparation, market analysis, player representation, free-agent strategy, and website development. Working with industry leaders helped him develop an understanding of contract negotiations, player valuation, and roster construction. Sam spent 14 years with the Detroit Tigers, advancing from intern to VP and Assistant General Manager. He managed multiple departments, contributed to player acquisition efforts, supported salary arbitration and contract negotiations, and helped oversee more than $100 million in capital investment initiatives. He also served as an interim organizational point of contact during a leadership transition. Sam Menzin earned a Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Psychology from Swarthmore College, studied abroad in Rome, and is completing an Executive MBA expected in 2027. Raised in Westbury, New York, he enjoys cooking, running, skiing, biking, yoga, and chess. He completed the Detroit Marathon in 2023 while raising funds for suicide prevention initiatives and volunteered with community service organizations.
