We’re here for the big guys because senior working draft horses often outlive their usefullness, we work directly with farming communities to help these horses transition into lifelong, specialized care through trusted, prevention-based pathways, so they can age with comfort and dignity.

Since 2014, Draft Gratitude has provided lifelong care for more than 100 senior working draft horses. We focus on prevention, calm transitions, and long-term responsibility—ensuring each horse can slow down, stay comfortable, and age with dignity.

We provide the care they need and honor the work they’ve already done.

For years, these horses worked quietly and reliably, asking little in return. When their working days end, they deserve safety, comfort, and a clear plan for retirement.

At Draft Gratitude, senior draft horses receive lifelong care—either in sanctuary or in adoptive homes, always with a guaranteed place to return.
