About Anti-Folk
Anti-Folk is a music genre which appeared as a rejection to the seriousness of American folk, mixing musical elements from folk and punk rock, generally with self-mocking or ironic lyrics. Originated in the United States in the 1980s, the genre also established itself in the United Kingdom underground scene in the 2000s, and saw a growing interest worldwide after 2007 film Juno.
