Futurepop is a genre of electronic music that emerged in the late 1990s as a result of the fusion of EBM and Synth-pop with the rhythmic and structural basis of Techno and Trance. It combines the melody and purity of vocals characteristic of Synth-pop, the atmospheric ambient and energetic rhythm of EBM, creating a rich and danceable, but at the same time emotionally expressive sound. The genre reached its peak of popularity in the early 2000s, especially in Europe, in countries such as Germany, Sweden and Norway.
