About Zydeco
Zydeco is a genre of music that originated in Louisiana in Black Creole communities. It’s known for the heavy use of accordion and the washboard. Most zydeco is up-tempo and syncopated, with a strong focus on the rhythm of the music.
It takes influence from other Louisiana genres, including Cajun music and Creole music, as well things like blues, country, and R&B.
