“Every tragedy in life is a comedy if you see it from afar. That means we have to live life as if we’re seeing ourselves from afar.”
🖋️… If you look too closely at your life all you can see is a painful and problematic part of it because that’s how impactful it is. However, if you were to look at someone else’s problems you don’t feel the same pain the way you feel with yours. You can analyze the situation from different angles.
This is exactly how your problems appear to others who see them from afar. They can see the humour behind your situation. They can’t feel the pain to the extent that you are feeling because only those who suffer understand the suffering. And that’s why when it gets really hard to cope with the tough situations in life, start looking at it from an outsider’s perspective as if we are seeing ourselves from afar. It will lessen your misery and who knows that you’ll find the comedy in your so-called tragedy. 🦋
It’s summer here in India and quiet a lazy time of the year. And as I’ve returned to hostel from my home after summer holidays nothing seems interesting. Nothing makes me want to stay here.
I returned from college after my exam and just changed my clothes real quick as they were all soaked in sweat. I sweat heavily. And just hopped on to my bed for just a quick nap, that turned out to be a pretty good deep sleep. But what matters is that I’m not mentally tired now. I feel good and all positive. So I studied a little and then started with the novel “The Great Gatsby”. To be honest I did not understand whatever I read in the first chapter but I think it’s going to be more interesting henceforth, as the writer mentioned about seeing Mr. Gatsby in the last few lines of the first chapter. Hope I’ll see some more of their interactions in the next chapter.I study in a college in NAVI Mumbai. I have spent my childhood as well as my teenage days in a small village in the district of Jalna, and then I moved to Navi Mumbai for my UG course in BAMS which is an undergraduate degree for ayurveda practitioners in India. Ayurveda is our traditional medicine system. The biggest difference that I noticed after moving here is that there is less space and more pace. Yes, there is less space for people to live in and the life here moves with greater pace. It becomes tiring to live just your everyday life here. There’s no time to think upon how your day went and what you need to do tomorrow. You just go with the flow. It took me an year or so to adjust and I’m doing well now.
I usually stay at college library to study because the new hostel isn’t that spacious and I can’t study in crowded places. But recently the college library has become more chaotic so I prefer to stay in my room. It’s more comfortable and not to mention how airy it is in this hot summer. We also have a study area here on 4th floor so I like this place too. When you open the window, you can see the buildings in front and their balconies too. Each balcony portrays a different story. It is more amusing to watch them than study. So I do that after a good study session. I have secured a good place here from where I get a better view of outside. The windows let in more cool breeze. And when I look at the sky, I can think. I actually just stare and think and let my ocean of thoughts calm down. And then I create some art like a sketch or a doodle or anything and then go back to study. Well I do eat some snack in between…
Do you agree that the one thing out of many others you need while growing up is your room or your personal space? No matter how small it is or however it is, it should be your own. Many of us can relate to this.
There should be at least one place that comes to your mind when you are done with everything and want to cry your heart out, but such that no one would see you at your worst. We come across such situations often. When that happens, you need a hideout of your own in which you can confide your emotions behind its walls. Being there alone for some time allows you to reflect on your actions so that you can fix them and go on with your life with a clear mind.
The age of 18 is a very crucial one in every teenager’s life. This is an age of discovery, of adventure and age where you meet many temporary people. This is an age where you have enough courage and will to pursue your dreams. You are bound to take risks and when failed, can get up and try again and again until it goes your way.
You tend to trust everyone and fall for every sweet talk. At 18 everything is possible and the coming day seems friendly. The memories you make at this age will stay with you forever and whenever you’ll look back in time at your 18-year-old self, you’ll reminisce of the days when you were brave enough to follow your heart and choose your path without any second thought. The risks you take would give you memories to laugh and cherish and the chances you missed will live inside of you as mere regrets. And regrets are the most painful things in life.
So if you are 18 and reading this then keep this as a piece of advice from me. At this age, it is possible to build your future and it is also possible that you destroy it. It is easy to get distracted and lose the ability to differentiate right from wrong. But always try to make wise decisions while living your own life at the same time. Your willpower is stronger than you believe it is. It seems quite tough at first but you can overcome all the hurdles and grow up to become a responsible adult. And I know you can do it, cause once, I was 18 too!
If you are new to kpop and wanna start your kpop journey with some amazing songs , but don’t know where to start , then let me guide you through it . Here are my top 5 favourite EXO songs that can help you get a basic idea of how diverse and unique this genre is in itself !
1. Loveshot
Well this wasn’t the first song I have heard of exo but when I discovered it later, it got stuck in my head. It’s composition stands out amongst others songs of the group . It’s highly addictive and there’s hardly any exol who doesn’t know this song . It is especially popular among international fans .
2. Growl
Growl was the biggest hit of its time and still is.Officially released in 2013 it is one of exo’s earliest songs . It’s music video appears to be a one shot video. At first I couldn’t grasp it because of the language barrier but with time and after listening to it again and again I began liking it . Now it’s one of my favourite exo songs.
3. Ko ko bop
I just love how smooth and fun is the start of this song . ” Shimmie shimmie ko ko bop , I think I like it ” it’s easy to sing 😅. The way it is sung creates a fun aura in no time . And its lyrics all about ” not worrying about things”, “going with the flow ” and “not worrying about haters”. When you are having a hard time in your life then do listen to this song.
4. Been through
Not many know this song . But it is my personal favourite because of its lyrics and melody . Some of it’s lyrics are – ” You shine like the stars , you light up my heart “Basically it expresses the concept that there’s hope waiting for you the other day, once this day with hardships is passed.
5. Monster
This song can be described as more dark and intense . Released in 2016, the concept of monster as I’ve got it to be is of an obsessive love . Rather that sweet and rainbow side , it focuses more on the aggressive side . Though it’s lyrics are controversial but in my opinion not every type of song is for everyone. EXO ‘s concepts have always been mature . So given the history of their previous songs , lyrics of monster are not a problem. I listened to monster without lyrics and what I loved the most was the chorus part .
When life becomes too hectic and monotonous , and you feel empty and lost inside , start doing things that you’ve always loved and wanted to do but never got the time . Eventually in the process of doing it you’ll find your lost self !
…..The best memories for most people are the ones of their childhood or specifically saying of their friends and school . School life is undoubtedly the best part of one’s life. There , we learn to grow as a better person , with all the ups and downs and among people we can proudly call ours. They are the witnesses of our frowns and smiles and our guilt and pride, and many such emotions we are able show them without us even knowing. Such was the case for Seema too.
The more she started to accept her new surroundings, the more she felt at ease. She could feel herself included. Every morning she woke up ,she would get ready for school with the excitement of a little kid in her eyes. Seema was a loner , especially when at home . She lived in a town and had only one friend who was also her deskmate at school. But when her only friend dropped out of school after moving to a city , Seema now had left with no friend in her town and that’s why she rarely stepped out of her home. There were many other girls who wanted to be her friend but Seema would feel very uncomfortable around them . She had built walls around her heart, so high, that not many could get through. But once she opened up to someone she was the most talkative girl ever . She was that kinda girl for her school friends and that was the reason she wanted to spend most of her time with them at her school . But soon enough she found another reason she wanted to be there , as someone not so agreeable had started to bother her now but not for all bad reasons !!
…Seema and Kabir with their different personalites were poles apart. While Seema struggled to make new friends , (thanks to her being an introvert ) Kabir made acquaintances wherever he went . He was a favorable person for everyone in general . Never did he get into any fight or argument except for the day he had one with Seema. He was more of a calm and composed persona while Seema would go furious at every little thing that bothered her . But whenever around her friends , she transformed into a completely new person , very different from her usual self . She would become more understanding, more calm and even funny. Anyone who was close enough to her knew her as a very talkative, carefree and at the same time as a sensitive person . She was the kind of girl anyone could confide their secrets in.
In no time she became well acquainted with everyone at school and was all praises for her academic performances . For teachers she was an obedient student . The year she entered her new school was much busier than the ones that were to follow as there were many changes in her life she had to accept as they came her way . Soon it was a new year at the same school that came with new responsibilities for her, and now began a brand new journey that was sweet yet challenging. A journey which she can never forget for it has been imprinted on her heart like the memory of a beautiful dream she saw which she still can’t believe is actually true !
…It’s been years now since she has been feeling this way . It all started suddenly without her knowing. Back to the time when Seema had just been transferred to a new school in a new city, she had a very unusual encounter with him on the very first day at her new school . She got into an argument with him for a front desk seat . He was reluctant to give it to her and she was not the one to give in . But it happened that when they were arguing Seema heard other students gossiping about her . They were telling each other that how come a newbie like Seema dare to act all bossy infront of a native student , that too on her first day when she’s supposed to try to be on the good side of everyone. Embarrassed , Seema didn’t say anything further and took her seat quietly which was just behind him . She later got to know his name from her deskmate which was , Kabir . Kabir was a kid from a very influential family and that’s all Seema learnt that day from her deskmate. Days passed by and so did months . Everything that scared her at school in her initial days was now all fun to do . Moreover she felt at ease whenever she was with her besties she befriended at her new school . Now her School became her favourite place to be at everyday !
The messages are scanty now which, once were in abundance. He rarely texts her first and it’s always her taking the initiative everytime. Even if she does , his late and many a times short replies are enough to show his lost interest during conversations. He never said so but all of these are mere thoughts made up by the mind of an overthinker like hers. She has a clear memory of those days when her day started with a morning wish to him and ended with a playful good night quote . There were no phone calls except for some occasions , as texts were a rather preferred choice . She hopes for those times to come to life again as for now they seem to be fading away. Her gaze every now and then fixing itself upon anything or anyplace whenever she is reminded of him as if she is dreaming in the broad daylight …
