The Way is Shut

two towers.
connected.
not by a bridge.
or a palantiri.
there is a coast.
embracing the bay-
of Denial, and
Costral still sits.
two Hands.
one of Sand.
and one
moist and crumbling.
Va awaits.
still shut out of home.
by two towers.
Of sand and bone.

a short swing and
a long dress.
feeling wanted
and needed
is good.
the river flows.
slow and long as
the community alongside.
praying for rain.
after days of sun.
brighter than.
the thousand smogs.
of Baltimore.

the air is clean, here.

More #wardswords. Today’s was photograph. Tired from work and really digging using these in #haiku.

a photograph, your
lap covered with book and yarn
could be home to me.

#standwithwendy

they want to take it all away.
make the people have no say.
spy on us like pervert jerks.
hoping we won’t see their work.

pass the agenda, make the grade.
when will this country be saved?
how is a woman’s body your business,
when you can’t even balance your own existence?

get the fuck out of my twat.
I don’t feel it’s asking much.
to want to make up my own mind.
about a tie that permabinds.

365 Days of Poetry: Day One-Hundred and Seventy-Seven

#wardswords was ‘work.’

work, it’s what’s for lunch.
solitude not worth so much.
around the cooler.

365 Days of Poetry: Day One-Hundred and Seventy-Six

swallow.
this is the last.
stuttering dregs.
in the bottom.
of a cracked cup.

follow.
making up.
your own mind.
is hard to do–
the shock of culture.

tomorrow.
a first step.
to future unknown.
the trying.
is the hardest part.

swallow.
the end is.
the beginning is.
the end–
and I am healed.

365 Days of Poetry: Day One-Hundred and Seventy-Five

“Grab your gun, and stand alongside of your brother.”

independence rings true.
preperations are made.
the march is set.
the game will be played.

advancing on justice.
the calvary song.
a small bit of the fallen.
will stick, carry on.

remember the freedom.
and still let it ring.
in a war of attrition.
a spy becomes king.

365 Days of Poetry: Day One-Hundred and Seventy-Four

burn another down.
take the blame.
say your sorries.
and do it again.

flash the world through.
make it open.
make it new.
as I am me.
and you are you.

patience.
they say it is a virtue.

365 Days of Poetry: Day One-Hundred and Seventy-Three

behind the lines.
behind the ball.
the past is waste.
the past is all.

below the cream.
below the signs.
the present stings.
the present sighs.

above the water.
above the lies.
the future calls.
the future blinds.

365 Days of Poetry: Day One-Hundred and Seventy-Two

my lunch was delayed.
roasting peanuts in the air.
gave rise to hunger.

Another poem off of #wardswords. http://twitter.com/adeleward is who you can follow to see them yourself. Think I got her Twitter address right.
