Accessibility Services: Information

Accessible content for eligible VIU community members

Eligible members* of the VIU community can access a wide range of accessible materials through the National Network for Equitable Library Service (NNELS). Available formats include DAISY, PDF, EPUB, e-text, and electronic Braille. While many NNELS titles are available to all, including those in the BC Open Textbook Collection, most titles are protected by copyright, and require a NNELS account to access. Users are encouraged to browse the NNELS collection to explore available resources.

For more information or to request a self-declaration form to set up a NNELS account, please contact the library by email at library@viu.ca or by phone at 250.740.6330. Assistance is also available through Accessibility Services.

*Eligible users are those with perceptual disabilities (commonly known as print disabilities) or their caregivers.
