Vampiros que Andam Sob o Sol
Personal comic project. As every “personal” stuff, it’s out from time to time to be read. I consider this my experiment to test every technique I want before any job. So since the beginning it changed a lot! And it will be forever my metamorphose.
Eter: A Common Struggle
Eter is a comic I’ve been working on with author Thomas Green since Nov/2021. The illustration process includes the design of some places and characters, color decisions to set the mood, speech bubbles, from thumbnails to ✨shiny✨ paintings!
Pen and Ink
Hard shadows and cross-hatching works. I tend to not overwork the mid shadows with ink if I’ll watercolor the piece later, so the colors will have more room to shine. Otherwise, lots of texture and deep black.
Illustrations
My most recent works aside comics. Some artworks have lineart with ink and some others don’t. It’s an aesthetic choice for artworks that resembles statues, I tend to use more graphite with statues ideas because they demand less layers of painting, but more time drawing. It’s a beautiful texture for me. Ink is a strong contrast and specially nice for comics where the reader needs to know every step with the minimum of abstractions, while for isolated works I enjoy to have delicacy.
Sketchbook
Ideas’ nursery. Pages like these will move the work forward, pose testings, angles, expressions, palettes, everything to get a comic page or an illustration done.
