Drive Angry review

Image Posted : 11 years, 3 months ago on 3 April 2015 03:13 (A review of Drive Angry)

It's by no means, a great film. It is however, a chesstaculary fun over the top movie.

Probably the best part of the film, is William Fichtner as "The Accontant", that and Nicholas Cage's hair.

The Interview review

Image Posted : 11 years, 6 months ago on 25 December 2014 07:05 (A review of The Interview)

Having just seen The Interview, I would have to say it was pretty great film. Granted, some of the jokes where hit and miss, but it was still not that bad of a movie.

I would say that this is a bottom of the barrel comedy, but I would be insulting both barrels and the bottom of barrels.

Whitney review

Image Posted : 14 years, 8 months ago on 15 November 2011 05:23 (A review of Whitney)

Tried watching this show a couple of times, but gave up on it after a few episodes. The fact that Whitney, is still on the air and that Community could be placed on an indefinite hiatus, and possibly cancelled by the "evil peacock network", says a lot about the "evil peacock network"'s priorities.

Season of the Witch review

Image Posted : 14 years, 8 months ago on 29 October 2011 02:04 (A review of Season of the Witch)

If your ever wondered, what The Name of The Rose, Monty Python and The Holy Grail, and The Devils, would be like featuring stilled dialogue, cheesy CGI, a predictable plot you can see coming from a mile away, and Nicholas Cage, then this film is for you!

Cage, plays a knight quested to deliver a young women, believed to be the cause of the Bubonic Plague, and of being a witch.

Also, the wolves in the film are of the CGI variety, but the unintentional laughs are very, very real.

Lovers of bad cinema, this is film is just for you!

Vanishing On 7th Street review

Image Posted : 14 years, 9 months ago on 24 September 2011 05:08 (A review of Vanishing On 7th Street)

It was an okay film, with an okay premise, but it fell apart at the very, very end.

Dragonball Evolution review

Image Posted : 14 years, 9 months ago on 18 September 2011 10:31 (A review of Dragonball Evolution)

Best comedy, ever!

I know it isn't but from the very beginning, I found the film very much unintentionally hilarious.

Yes, I know that the TV series, had their moments of humor, but the live action takes it to the next level.

A direct comparison, would be Super Mario Bros and Double Dragon, both awesomely bad, and both worth checking out if you like really horribly awful, but yet entertainingly horribly bad movies films, this film definitely belongs way up there with them.

Missing in Action 2: The Beginning
Image 106 action kills: All dudes Braddock kills only 36 in the film. 30 American MIA soldiers / POWs count for 30 deaths. Opposing force: 70 killed and Colonel Yin is responsible for 36 total kills, while Captain Chow is credited with 31 total kills. Running time: 95 mins Number of in Action: 106 mins KIAPM: 1.12 mins You will remember this: The ultimate "God-tier" or definitive signature moment in Missing in Action 2: The Beginning is the infamous rat-killing scene. Most in action scene: The Commandeered Flamethrower. After seizing an enemy weapon cache, Braddock pins down a squad of Vietnamese soldiers in the camp trenches, unleashing a massive stream of fire that incinerates the guards and sets the wooden structures ablaze. Least in action: The absolute least "action-packed" or most stagnant moment in Missing in Action 2: The Beginning is the lengthy opium torture sequence involving Master Sergeant Ernest Franklin. While the scene is highly intense and dramatic, it completely grinds the high-octane physical momentum of the film to a halt. Instead of fistfights or gunplay, the focus shifts to a slow, psychological battle: How evil dies: Captain Chow is killed by Lieutenant Anthony Mazilli during the chaotic prisoner uprising in the compound. After Chow ruthlessly guns down Captain Nester, Mazilli blindsides Chow, engaging him in a brief struggle before stabbing him to death with a bladed weapon. Colonel Yin is killed by Colonel Braddock (Chuck Norris) in a highly stylized, explosive finale: Survivors: Corporal Lawrence Opelka

, Lieutenant Anthony Mazilli and Emerson: This marks the begging of the trilogy, therefore The Beginning. Colonel James Braddock is going to be back.

Firewalker
Image 6 confirmed kills 5 men 1 woman 3 kills by Max Donigan 1 kill by Leo Porter 1 kill by El Coyote 1 kill by Patricia Goodwin Running time: 105 mins Number of kills: 6 Kills per average: 1.5 mins Chuck Norris’s Personal Average: 35 mins It’s a goof ball action buddy comedy film. Sorry. No high Norris count! No one can ever kills God: The definitive "God Moment" in Firewalker completely abandons the movie's lighthearted comedy and delivers the most legendary, physics defying bar brawl of Chuck Norris's entire 1980s career. However: The ultimate "Un-God Moment" in Firewalker occurs when Chuck Norris’s character is completely outsmarted, trapped, and forced to wear a giant, ridiculous papier-mâché donkey head to escape from the local authorities. This moment completely strips away his legendary, tough-guy persona for pure, embarrassing visual comedy. Everyone who doesn’t die for Chuck: Leo Porter, Patricia Goodwin and Tall Eagle

Hero and the Terror (1988)
Image 34 confirmed kills 28 kills by Simon Moon / The Terror 4 kills by Detective Danny O'Brien / The Hero 1 kill by Detective Copelli 1 kill by Detective Bill Robinson Running time: 96 mins Number of kills: 34 Kills per average: 5.2 mins Chuck Norris’s personal count: 24:00 It’s more of a Seven type film, than your standard issue ass kicking Chuck film. No one can ever kill God: The standout "God Moment" occurs when O'Brien tracks the monstrous, hulking serial killer Simon Moon into the dark, labyrinthine underbelly of the newly renovated Wiltern Theatre. However: If the theater fight is the ultimate "Chuck God Moment," then "Hero and the Terror" also features the absolute ultimate "Un-Chuck Moment" of his entire career is Chuck Norris actually faints on screen. This moment completely breaks the mythos of the invincible action star and serves as a major outlier in his filmography. Everyone who doesn’t die for Chuck: Kay Kennedy, The New Baby, Detective Copelli ,The Mayor and Dwight.

Lone Wolf McQuade
Image 79 confirmed kills 74 men 1 women 4 animals Including Norris’ pet wolf. How rude! 32 kills by Ranger Jim "J.J." McQuade 20 kills by Trooper Arcadio "Kayo" Ramos 11 kills by Rawley Wilkes 6 kills by FBI Agent Marcus Jackson 3 kills by “Jefe" (Jorge Cervera Jr. 1 kills by by Ranger Dakota Brown Running time: 107 mins Number of kills: 79 Kills per average: 1.36 minutes Chuck Norris's Personal count: 3.3 to 4.1 minutes That will teach you to not kill his pet wolf, you bastards. No one can ever kill God: The definitive "God Moment" in Lone Wolf McQuade—and perhaps the most legendary scene in Chuck Norris's entire cinematic career is the famous Truck Burial Escape. It is the sequence that essentially birthed the modern internet landscape of "Chuck Norris Facts" because of how aggressively it defies logic, physics, and human limitations. However: After a messy encounter, Lola visits his filthy cabin and completely cleans it for him. This leads to a quiet, romantic sequence where she washes the desert dust off his face, culminating in a peaceful romance montage. God fight!: The ultimate, undisputed "God Fight" in Lone Wolf McQuade is the legendary final martial arts showdown between Chuck Norris (J.J. McQuade) and David Carradine (Rawley Wilkes) inside the burning desert compound. This battle is iconic because it pits two real-world martial arts titans against each other in a raw, brutal, and completely unhinged slugfest that entirely discards the movie's gunplay for pure hand-to-hand combat. However fight: The least memorable, most quickly forgotten fight in Lone Wolf McQuade happens early in the film when McQuade easily beats up a group of low-level thugs at a local, dusty bar. Everyone who didn’t die for Chuck: * Deputy Kayo Ramos FBI Special Agent Marcus Jackson, Sally McQuade and Molly McQuade

Forced Vengeance
Image 18 confirmed deaths 16 male 2 female Chuck Norris's Personal count: 12 He’s back baby! Running time: 90 mins Number of deaths: 12 Kills per average: 5.0 Chuck Norris Awesome Minutes: 7.5 mins No one can out awesome him. No one! No one can ever kill God: The absolute most "god moment" in Forced Vengeance is the brutal rooftop neon sign fight. While the film has plenty of shootouts, this specific scene elevates Chuck Norris to legendary status by combining martial arts precision with the vibrant, gritty aesthetic of 1980s Hong Kong. However: The absolute "un-Chuck moment" in Forced Vengeance happens when Josh Randall gets completely blindsided, knocked unconscious, and thrown into a chicken coop. For a Chuck Norris character who is normally an untouchable, suit-wearing martial arts deity, this sequence forces him into a rare state of total vulnerability: Everyone who doesn’t die for Chuck the God: Joy Paschal, David Paschal and The Casino Staff & Locals

And the death of the closet troll, who is killed by a spinning record and fan after trying to kill Drew Barrymore and she is saved by a cat. Non memorable kills: Most memorable kills: Marcia Norris in "The Ledge" segment. While the other deaths feature elaborate practical effects, high-stakes action, or dark poetic justice, her death is completely hollowed out of screen time. Also, Polly the Parakeet. Brazil
Image 7 totalitarian counts of paper work 5 male 2 women Confirmed “Real World” deaths Archibald Buttle, Mrs. Terrain, Jill Layton. and Spoor & Dowser Hallucination & Dream Sequence Kills Jack Lint, Harry Tuttle and Giant Samurai Running time: 94 - 142 mins Number of bleak: 7 Number of dreams: 5 Dreams per average: 28.3 dreams Grim per minute: 12 mins Kills per average: 20.3 mins Number of times the song “Brazil” or version of is used: 30-40 Bleakest death: The absolute bleakest death in Brazil belongs to Archibald Buttle. His demise is the most haunting because it is completely devoid of the film's signature comedic absurdity, serving instead as a cold, terrifying anchor to reality. Every death is bleak. We are talking about Terry Gilliam. A man who is allergic to happy endings in films. Survivors: Sam Lowry (vegetative in real life, in controversial “love” ending he is happy and with Jill.), Jack Lint, Ida Lowry, Harry Tuttle and Mr. Hlpmann In “love” ending, Sam and Jill live happily ever age. As far as Terry Gilliam goes, he prefers the “Everything is bleak, no one lives in the ending and if they do, then things won’t end well, because that is life works in the end…… Sam is forever a prisoner and will die in captivity, and Jill is most definitely. Dead. His mind permanently fractured to escape the pain of torture, meaning the Ministry of Information won. They could not fix him, but by driving him insane, they successfully neutralized him.

Nor even worthy of a crayon: Casey’s off screen throat slashing. The true killer is Dale, the overprotective brother of the mysterious woman, Rose. His motive for the murders—including the death of Dr. Bob Moore was to protect his sister and exact revenge on anyone who uncovered her fractured identities. Dressed to Kill
Image 2 confirmed deaths 2 women Running time: 195 mins Number of kills: 2 Kills per average: 52.2 mins Most memorable kill: The main kill of the film, of Kate Miller in the elevator with a straight razor blade. While it doesn’t happen until midway into the film, it’s not unlike Drew Barrymore’s Casey Becker, or Janet Leigh and Anne Heche’s Msrion Crane in Psycho. Meant to throw you, THE VIEWER off guard, put you in their place, fearful of their safety and yours too. Least memorable kill: The unnamed hospital nurse. She is just strangled. Killer’s motive: The killer's motive in Dressed to Kill stems from a severe psychological conflict involving gender identity and sexual arousal. The film reveals that the murderer is actually the housewife's psychiatrist, Dr. Robert Elliott. Elliott has a severe case of Dissociative Identity Disorder, splitting into two distinct personalities: himself and his alter ego, a blonde woman named Bobbi. Survivors: Liz Blake, Peter Miller, Detective Marino and Dr. Robert Elliot and Bobbi. With Dr. Elliot being sent to a psychiatric hospital after being arrested. A controversial ending to an equally controversial film.

Just before the holidays last year, I did something heretofore unthinkable: I came down from mountain home in the Poconos of northeastern Pennsylvania and relocated to the Outer Banks of North Carolina, long my favorite vacation destination. One of the most endearing parts of the Outer Banks, their myriad of lighthouses, drew me to move there. The other, more important reason? To be closer to my daughter and soon-to be grandchild! Until then, enjoy these views as much as I. Hopefully, in the spring, I'll add a few of my own pics!
