Finally got my hands on the 2026 Chogokin Samus Aran from Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. This is an officially Nintendo-licensed product produced by Tamashii Nations / Bandai Spirits.
And man… this figure is amazing.
As soon as you hold it, the weight immediately lets you know that this is a premium figure. Chogokin is Bandai’s long-running figure line that goes all the way back to Chogokin Mazinger Z in 1974. The staple of this line of figures is that they use die-cast metal to give them a heavy, premium, almost “real machine” feel. Samus uses die-cast metal in parts of the armor and frame, with ABS and PVC making up the rest of the sculpt.
At 8.3 inches tall, this Chogokin Samus figure is only a little more than 2 inches taller than a Figma Samus figure but it is enough to make a significant difference.
The articulation on this figure is also great, Samus has enough movement to recreate all the classic Samus poses. And because this is a big 8.3-inch figure with metal in the frame, the posing feels substantial. It doesn’t feel like you’re toying with a fragile model kit.
For accessories you get six interchangeable left hands, an arm cannon missile-mode part, and a dedicated pedestal/display stand that you can use to support poses.
You’re able to install two LR41 batteries in the back/chest area, and Samus’ chest plate and helmet/visor light up, allowing you to see Samus’ face through the visor. There’s also a hidden battery slot (and on/off switch) in the arm cannon, where you can install two more LR41 batteries. Once those are in, the end of the arm cannon lights up as well. The total battery requirement is LR41 x 4, sold separately.
The only downside to this figure would have to be the lack of a replaceable head or removeable helmet, which would’ve been killer. The face model that is used for Samus Aran in Metroid Prime 4 is wonderfully done in-game and it would have been awesome to have it as part of this premium figure.
To conclude, I love this figure, and Samus has finally got the premium treatment she deserves. It has the size, the die-cast feel, articulation, LEDs, accessories, and that official Nintendo/Tamashii Nations polish. This is easily the most premium, poseable, Samus figure ever created.
