Right now the bar is a good 5mm longer than needed to account for the swelling, so I will have to go for some downsizes as the piecing heals and settles(: Should take around a year to fully heal. I'm taking the approach of leave it the hell alone apart from a saline clean 2x a day

Since this is a surface piercing, there is a chance for it to migrate or reject, same as every other, but with some good luck and good care, I am hoping for this to be permanent(: I've seen other people who have had this piercing for years!

Thank you! I was expecting more pain than I felt because if the thickness of the piercing. The initial entry stung, the middle was just a lot of pressure, and the exit also stung, but it was such a smooth job. No blood, no watering eyes. Was a great experience for me

The actual piercing depth itself is about 10mm, the bar I have on rn is 16mm to account for swelling, and I will be having multiple down sizes as the piercing channel heals. I was worried about knocking it or catching it, so I spent a lot of time trying to just not touch my chin before I got it done haha. So far, all good! Tbh I'm expecting to hit a few bumps with the healing of this, so I'm well prepared, dw!

Thank you so much! There was a lot of chin squishing, measuring and marking done to make sure the piercing was right for my anatomy. This wouldn't be suited to everyone and is a more technical piercing to perform. It was pierced far forward enough that it isn't touching any bone, it was absolutely a concern as we didn't want to cause any damage. If I look after this well, I am hoping to keep it for a long time! Being a surface piercing in such a high movement area, also through a thick amount of flesh, there is a possibility for this to reject. Healing will be around or over a year, I'm going to do my best to keep it!

Thank you so much! I'm super happy with it. I have a vertical labret, but I have always thought about getting snake bites. Maybe two more vertical labrets to mimic the look of snake bites without having to worry about my teeth haha. Thank you for the suggestion!
