Hmm, you’d be the first I know to try it. You could always print a sample and play with the gap distance

When you export the zip and import it into your slicer, make sure you auto-arrange the models. This print will require several unique pieces that line up side by side.

edit: or actually, what precisely do you mean by the baseplate was too small?

edit 2: Oh, read the print-guide in the zip file. You need to print multiple copies of certain pieces

Yes, the bin designer already supports this!

Where can I find a tool to make cutouts for gridfinity bins by Dependent-Bridge-740 in gridfinity

I just added a little thing to https://gridfinitylayouttool.com/designer that could use some testers, go to the cutout editor, click the phone icon, and scan the QR code.

Exactly, it'll create a separate stack per unique baseplate

To be honest, you have too many disparate implementations and none of them are done particularly well. The bin heights do not follow gridfinity spec which is a huge red flag. If anyone prints your bins with and uses them alongside other gridfinity bins they will not match.

Thanks! It works by putting a 0.2mm gap between each plate so there’s less squish and the bond is weaker so you can snap them apart.

In your slicer you can also choose to fill the gap with a non-stick filament like PETG for cleaner separation. I’ll add instructions to the tool on how to do that.

Hey folks,

I just added vertical stacking to https://gridfinitylayouttool.com/baseplate

I did a test print with 8 stacked baseplates and it came out great! Looking for more testers to try it out and overall feedback on the UI. I had to use a small flat head screwdriver to crack them open a bit but it should be even easier if you use PETG between the gaps.

Help! How to make a stackable baseplate? by toiavalle in gridfinity

[–]veroz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://gridfinitylayouttool.com/designer can do this. Just make a 7x7 bin and enable Lid with stackable top grid then just print the lid.

You can set the half-bin position if you sync with the layout and toggle the settings near the grid dimensions in the layout tab. It's a bit hidden and now that I'm typing this out I should just expose that control in the baseplate generator.

Also could you elaborate on labels? (Because label tabs are already supported)
