What teams say about PostNext analytics

Rachel Thompson

"I used to pull six tabs open every Friday for the client report. Now I filter by client, set the date range, and export a PDF. It's not the deepest tool I've ever used, but for a weekly engagement and reach check it does the job."

Carlos Mendez

"The engagement view across X and Instagram is what I wanted. Same engagement-rate calculation on both so I can compare like-for-like. CSV export drops straight into our reporting sheet without reformatting."

Amanda Foster

"The best-time-to-post panel is ranked from our own engagement, not a generic chart, so it actually matches our audience. The audience-growth trend showing real follower counts day by day was the nudge I needed to switch from a more expensive tool."

Per-post engagement

Real per-post engagement for X and Instagram

See how each post actually performed on X and Instagram: engagement rate, reach, impressions, likes, comments, saves, and shares, pulled from the platform APIs for your own posts. Pick a period of 7, 30, or 90 days, or since tracking started, and switch between channels. While data is still coming in you see an honest collecting-data state, never fake zeros.

Audience growth and timing

Audience-growth trend and the best time to post

Follow a daily follower-count trend that accumulates from the day you connect, across X, Instagram, Threads, and TikTok. Gap days are shown honestly rather than filled with zeros, so the line reflects what really happened. The best-time-to-post panel ranks the slots that earned the most engagement from your own X and Instagram history, so the recommendation matches your actual audience.

Export CSV and PDF reports for clients and stakeholders

Pull the numbers out when you need them. Export as CSV for spreadsheets and further analysis, or as PDF for client and stakeholder reports. Exports honour the channel and date range you have selected, so what you see on screen is what ends up in the file, with the period and channel labelled so the recipient knows exactly what they are looking at.

Analytics FAQ

Common questions about PostNext analytics. If yours is not here, the support team is happy to help.

What does PostNext analytics cover?

Three things: per-post engagement for X and Instagram (engagement rate, reach, impressions, likes, comments, saves, shares), a daily audience-growth trend for X, Instagram, Threads, and TikTok, and a best-time-to-post panel ranked from your real engagement history. It is not deep listening or competitor benchmarking.

Which engagement metrics are tracked, and for which platforms?

Per-post engagement covers X and Instagram only: engagement rate, reach, impressions, likes, comments, saves, and shares. Audience growth (daily follower count) is tracked for X, Instagram, Threads, and TikTok. We do not collect link clicks or video views, because the platform APIs we use do not expose them for your posts.

How fresh is the data?

Audience growth is captured as a daily snapshot that accumulates from your connect date. Per-post engagement refreshes on a regular schedule from each platform API. It is not strictly real time, and it is subject to each network's rate limits, so very recent posts may take a short while to appear.

Can I compare performance across platforms?

Within their supported scope. Per-post engagement uses the same engagement-rate calculation on X and Instagram, so you can compare those two like-for-like. The audience-growth trend can be viewed for X, Instagram, Threads, and TikTok. Engagement is not collected for Threads or TikTok, so they appear in the growth trend rather than the per-post engagement view.

How far back does historical data go?

Audience growth and engagement accumulate from the day you connect each account, so the history builds up over time rather than backfilling the past. You can view 7, 30, or 90-day periods, or since tracking started. While a period is still filling in you see an honest collecting-data state, never fabricated zeros.

What export formats are available?

CSV for spreadsheets and PDF for client or stakeholder reports, both real and available now. Exports honour the channel and date range selected on the dashboard, so what you see on screen is what ends up in the file.

When is the best time to post?

The best-time-to-post panel ranks time slots by the engagement they actually earned in your own X and Instagram history, rather than a generic industry chart. It needs some published history to draw on, so the ranking gets sharper as more of your posts are tracked. It is a paid feature.

Does this replace the native analytics in each app?

Not entirely. PostNext is handy for a quick cross-account engagement and growth check and for clean CSV or PDF exports. For platform-specific depth such as TikTok territories, story taps, or watch-time, the native app still goes deeper.
