Le monstre qui sort de l'esprit de Necrophagous sort de l'ordinaire : comme les bestiaires des mythologies traditionnelles ne sont pas suffisantes, le groupe suédois fait appel à Mattias Frisk, qui imagine un croisement entre un taureau et un serpent. In Chaos Ascend a les propriétés des deux animaux : les riffs décérébrés du death metal old-school (pas un seul solo pour apporter de l'oxygène) tordent des mélodies modernes très travaillées, au point où elles ondulent entre deux mondes. Brutal !
