My food avoidance thing finally putting me off sandwiches again but also back on beans and rice means this should be the last month of blowing past my SNAP budget and having to make up for the gap with cash.

I’ve literally only a handful of things I would like to get elsewhere or elsewise so that I can delete my Instagram account, but it’s thus far proving to be impossible, as no one publishes RSS and TikTok is a terrible website with email support people who aren’t even reading their own messages and so I might end up just deleting that account, too, without ever even getting a chance to attempt to use it for real.

After the hellscape of the last three days, it’s overcast and might not break 70°F, and thank you to whatever god or gods I don’t actually believe in for returning “my” weather to Portland.

As the heatwave departs and takes with it several of my websites and online accounts, or at least their profile visibility, I’m left to find a way to follow a few Instagram accounts through some other means so that I can kill that off, too.

Other things happening while I am burning or locking down various of my online visibilities include my intermittent food avoidance souring me on sandwiches again, and in fact I couldn’t finish mine for dinner, so it looks like time to return to beans and rice, if I can decide what I want to have in it besides beans and rice.

The burninating has commenced, and I’ve disabled all my websites except for my personal site, which now mostly is a placeholder, The Finger Publishing Co., and The War Prayer; I’ve taken my Goodreads and Trakt private, locked what I could on Letterboxd, and deleted my Reddit account altogether; and I’m desperately trying to find a way to follow just two things somewhere other than Instagram so I can delete that outright.

It could be the insomnia but my mood is diving and it’s mostly manifesting as a strong urge to pull back from online even more than I already have, if I could even find the emotional wherewithal to do it, beginning with pulling down all my websites except my personal one, the shipyard zine one, and The War Prayer, despite only just having gotten them and my other ones reconstituted through a lot of concerted effort.

In a heatwave when you really would like to get your regular rest is a great time to be awake way too early because of congestion while waiting to see if two different nasal sprays plus saline are going to restore your ability to breathe quickly enough to be able to get back to sleep of if you’re just going to be stuck with an open mouth and itchy ears.

On day two of this three-day heatwave, I got in a bunch of reading, got in a load of laundry, and got in the full shave, haircut, and shower cycle, and that’s sufficient.

When it gets hot, I don’t usually turn on the air conditioning if it’s only 70°F inside, but after managing a late walk after 9:00 PM when it was maybe 76°F outside, I walked in and almost immediately had reflux from the exertion, so it looks like tonight is the exception, just for a little bit.

This three-day heatwave means I’m stuck inside with nothing to do, but it also means I’m not spending money on lattes, so I spent eleven dollars on another domain to put together something that should exist but doesn’t, and yes I am talking about Goners again.

I’m not sure what to do with myself for the three-day heatwave starting tomorrow, because I’ve already finished re-coding and moving my write-up of the unfilmed Goners screenplay, which means I don’t have any website stuff left to occupy my time, but I wanted to get it done and had the wherewithal to do it, and now I’m left staring at three empty days.

I’m down to just two sites remaining on Carrd, one of which is only an iframe around the website of the state of Florida, so this next little heatwave is maybe a good time to get to work on renovating and moving the other one, my write-up of the unfilmed Goners screenplay.
