New semester started and already I miss sleeping in.

End of an era. After several months, I have finally finished Cyberpunk 2077. Exquisite game.

After several weeks of missing (self-imposed) deadlines to post weekly, I have finally added another .

It isn't much but does feel damned good to finally get something personal done. Classes start winding down soon so I should have more time to be more consistent with my own web work.

i'm overloaded with classes and projects this semester. working many days from when i wake up until i climb into bed. it isn't sustainable. still, today i was able to post a new page. feels like cheating to work on something for myself.

i have been listening to quite a bit lately. wonderful audio service.

prepped and ready for the upcoming week. i'm going to miss these longer weekends where i have more time to unwind and prepare.

survived the first week of school. exhausting but exhilarating at the same time. i think it is going to be a great semester.

last day of summer before meeting new students tomorrow.

bought a new pair of shoes. now i'm ready for the school year to begin.

summer class done and grades posted. working on prep for fall classes that start next week. it is going to be a busy fall semester with four classes and two directed studies students. plus i'm taking a class on creative process.

trying to learn how to use excalidraw in obsidian for publishing interactive notes. slow going but making progress.

my daughter has started drivers ed. we took a drive today and hit a pothole hard enough to pop a tire. she got to practice changing a tire on the side of the road. important life lessons.

just like that, the school year comes to an end. of course this is also the first day of the summer class i'm teaching.

grades are done and posted!!!

enjoying the last day of class with seniors as we wander around downtown lansing. juniors are coming back next week for more hooliganism.

finished grading for the weekend. one more week of meaningful class content to go.

tons of phone interviews this upcoming week as we work on hiring a full-time position in the art department.

winding down the school year. lots of grading and paperwork and bureaucracy. looking forward to being able to sleep in again.

getting ready for skillsusa state competition and helping students organize their resumes. remembering how much i hate working in microsoft word. holy shit that program sucks, especially when using tables for page layout.

after a week of diligent effort, i am happy to report that i am finally caught up with grading!!

there’s a weird dichotomy in feeling empty while seeking emptiness. too full in places i want to be empty and empty in the places i want to be full.

finally migrated my site to be under my own control. using quarto to build it out. it has been fun tinkering and tweaking.

done grading marking period two of my high school classes. i actually get two whole days where i don't need to grade anything. feels like a miracle.

after several years without, i finally replaced my ipad. looking forward to spending time doodling and exploring digital drawing apps again.

loving being able to see my iphone on my laptop, if only because it is much easier to get past all the two-factor authorization screens.

only three weeks into school and already falling behind on work. damn there's a lot that needs to be done to get classes started and running smoothly.
