Built by Someone Who Understands What Access Can Change
Devon Moody is a native of East St. Louis, Illinois, an ecosystem activator, business strategist, and disruptor of broken economic systems with more than 17 years of experience advancing entrepreneurs, communities, and economic development initiatives. She is also a dedicated mother of four who believes strong families, thriving businesses, and vibrant communities are built through intentional investment, opportunity, and access.
Devon is the founder of The 89th Collective, the first coworking and creative space in East St. Louis, Illinois, created to provide entrepreneurs, creatives, and community leaders with a place to connect, collaborate, and grow. She is also the founder of The Biz Spot Community, an organization focused on entrepreneurship, workforce development, and economic empowerment. Through her consulting, entrepreneurial, and ecosystem-building work, she has helped businesses access more than $4 million in capital and has spent over 15 years creating pathways to business ownership, wealth creation, and community impact.
Through regional partnerships, Devon’s work has expanded globally, including initiatives in Paris, France, where she has led cultural and business exchanges connecting entrepreneurs, mothers, and students across borders. Her work focuses on fostering innovation, strengthening communities, and creating opportunities that drive economic mobility.
As a Missouri Small Business Development Center (SBDC) counselor, Devon supports entrepreneurs throughout the State of Missouri, helping businesses move from idea to launch, navigate challenges, identify growth opportunities, and build sustainable enterprises.
She remains committed to increasing access to resources and building strong ecosystems where underserved entrepreneurs can thrive and create lasting economic impact.
