- I wonder if I'm the only person who is troubled by the difference between these.
- I enjoyed seeing all the guesses to where I'd be working. Today, I'm excited to share my next adventure. @Netlify #webdev #OpenSource #solidjs
- Today, we’re deprecating Create React App for new apps, and encouraging existing apps to migrate to a framework. We’re also providing docs for when a framework isn’t a good fit for your project, or you prefer to start by building a framework. react.dev/blog/2025/02/1…
- SolidStart is finally here. This has been a giant 3 year effort. So thankful to have everyone that has contributed. I never wanted to make a metaframework but details do matter. And I'm proud of what we've accomplished. After 2 years of research, two beta releases and countless hours of R&D, the @solid_js Team is proud to announce the release of SolidStart 1.0! 🚀🎉 SolidStart has already made an impact on the broader JS community. We’re excited to see what’s next. solidjs.com/blog/solid-sta…
- I'm very excited about this. These funds means other people(ie.. not me) working on SolidStart full-time. This is huge news for @solid_js and the types of things we want to accomplish. We are ecstatic to announce @googlechrome as a new research and finance sponsor! The Solid and Chrome Teams are working together to bring the best performance to SolidStart. Big shoutout to @addyosmani and the Chrome team.💙 solidjs.com/blog/chrome-su…
- I once heard if you had to repeat something 3 times you should write an article. So clearly this article is overdue. "Web Components Are Not the Future" by @RyanCarniato #WebDevelopment #webcomponents #DEVCommunity
- I had no idea how happy a red squiggly line could make me:
- Can we all agree in 2024 that "Just JavaScript" is the most ridiculous statement one can make about a JavaScript framework? Everything is just JavaScript and everything is a whole lot more. You pick these tools for the abstraction, meaning the ship has already sailed.Fine grained reactivity sounds nice but I like that react is just JavaScript
- No Stream again today. I will be back to work after another week. Took some personal time. My wife and I had a baby boy, Luca, bought a house in Portland, Oregon, and honored the one year of the passing of our son, Matteo. It was a hard year, but we start this one with hope.
- One of the bigger challenges I have had promoting @solid_js is assuming developers have a general idea of how their tools work. I'd show off fine-grained rendering, and be met with "Isn't that how React works?" I'd find myself educating them more about their existing tools.
- I might be watching the best history of web dev I've ever seen:
- Is anyone else feeling the weight of all the future JS technology discussions? If it feels like a lot it is because it is a lot. There is a lot of really cool stuff going on right now. I think we need some time for this all to sink in. And that's OK.
