JÁN ÍY, ȻENS TÁĆEL HÁLE

It is really good that you have all arrived. Welcome all.

The Native Students Union Council and members acknowledge with respect that the University of Victoria resides on the territories of the Lekwungen and W̱SÁNEĆ people.

O SIÁM NE SĆÁLEĆE. We raise our hands to the Elders and Chiefs of these territories where we are guests, and thank our host nations of the Greater Victoria area. The Native Students Union is pleased to welcome you to UVic. The NSU Council and all members look forward to meeting you.

What is the Native Students Union?

The NSU is a non-profit organization ran by Indigenous student volunteers and staff. Since 1969, we have been coming together to form community, support each other and local nations, advocate for Indigenous rights and wellness, and create spaces to safely exist while we attend UVic. This is accomplished through various programming, events, and community organizing.
