Empowering advocates

We train advocates and professionals to deliver cutting-edge support for survivors of crime.

About Us

We are dedicated to serving victims of all crime types

The National Center for Victims of Crime is dedicated to serving individuals, families, and communities harmed by crime.

We believe that a society that prioritizes the safety and healing of communities, responds to the needs of all individuals harmed by crime, promotes victims’ rights, and engages in advocacy for systems change is able to reduce the crime and its impact on victims and their families.

When the famous and powerful are accused of crimes, it’s often their victims who face scrutiny — and it makes survivors’ fights for justice much harder.

We’ll talk about this problem in the opening keynote panel at this year’s National Training Institute. “Under the Spotlight: Victims, Fame, and the Fight for Justice” will feature Olympic gymnast, survivor, and advocate Jamie Dantzscher and attorneys John Manly, John Clune, and Kristen Gibbons Feden, who have faced off against powerful figures and institutions like USA Gymnastics and R. Kelly.

This panel will be moderated by the one and only Kim Goldman.

We hope you’ll join us in Chicago from September 9-September 11 for NTI 2026. See the full agenda and register at victimsofcrime.org/NTI.

When a young all-star cheerleader was sexually abused by her coach, the failures that allowed it to happen were systemic.

On this episode of Parallel Justice, attorney Jessica Arbour, who represents the survivor in a civil lawsuit against World Cheer Center, joins us to examine how gaps in oversight within the cheerleading industry — including at the US All Star Federation — left young girls vulnerable to abuse.
