Vision's Policies
On this page you can find all of Vision’s published policies. These policies maybe updated from time to time, so please refer back to this page to ensure you are aware of the current policies
Codes of Practice
Vision Christian Radio utilises broadcasting licences that are subject to Codes of Practice registered with the Australian Communications and Media Authority. The codes cover material broadcast, the classification of programs, customer service standards, complaints procedures, and more.
- Our FM and AM broadcasts utilise Open Narrowcast licences which are subject to the Open Narrowcasting Codes of Practice which you can access here.
- Our DAB+ broadcasts utilise commercial licences and are therefore subject to the Commercial Radio Codes of Practice which you can access here.
- You can also read more about the rules and codes broadcasters must abide by at the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) website.
We work to abide by the codes at all times. However, if you are concerned that we may have breached a code, the codes state that you must first address your complaint us in writing and we will also respond in writing according to the timeframes and standards outlined in the codes. If you are not satisfied with our response, you then have the option to refer the matter to the ACMA. When writing to us, please include sufficient detail so as to enable us to identify the item broadcast, (eg date, time, a description of the material, name of the program and/or name of the presenter, etc), along with the nature of your concern and the location and frequency of the Vision broadcast service you were listening to.
Content you may have accessed through other means such as satellite channels, online-only streams, social media and podcasts are not specifically subject to these codes, however we welcome your feedback about them too, and will respond to any substantive complaint.
Written complaints may be submitted by post or through our electronic contact form – and of course if you have a compliment or other feedback, we want to hear that too! You’ll find our contact details and forms here.

Complaints Policy
We want to resolve it.
We’re pleased to say that we don’t receive a lot of complaints. However if there is something you’d like to raise with us, we would like to know. Our process for dealing with complaints is outlined below, however first and foremost our ministry is based on the Biblical model for resolving issues.
The Apostle Paul gave some very wise instruction when he said these words…
‘If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.’ Romans 12:18 NKJV
If you wish to to make a comment or complaint about something you heard, read or saw in one of our media products, we want to assure you that we want to hear from you so we have the opportunity to answer your enquiry.
Here’s what you need to know:
- Vision Christian Radio and Vision180 Radio abide by the Open Narrowcast Radio Codes of Practice registered with the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA). These Codes of Practice outline the correct procedure for both you and us in registering and dealing with your complaint.
- If your complaint is about something you have read in The Word for Today, Vision180 magazine or to do with Vision Christian Prayer, then the following guidelines still apply (even though they are not covered under the Codes of Practice).
Your complaint should in the first instance be made directly to us. Please use the form below, or you can also mail or phone us.
Make a Complaint
Please be assured that we will make every reasonable effort to resolve your genuine complaint in a courteous and timely manner.
If possible (and if you phone us) we will attempt to deal with your complaint during the course of your call. However, if that is not possible, you may be asked to make your complaint in writing.
The ANRA Codes of Practice require us to acknowledge all written complaints in writing within fifteen days from when we receive the complaint. We then have another fifteen days to respond to the complaint with a comprehensive answer. (We usually respond a lot quicker than this.) If you don’t receive a response from us within sixty days or, you are not satisfied with the response we have given to your written complaint, you then have the option of referring your (radio-related) complaint to the ACMA.
Finally, we’d also love to hear from you if you have a compliment too 🙂

Vision will investigate and respond to complaints within a reasonable timeframe.
Any individuals or organisations not satisfied with Vision’s response may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at https://www.oaic.gov.au or via post to:
- The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC)
GPO Box 5288, Sydney NSW 2001, Australia.
Automated Decision Making
Vision does not currently use computer programs to make decisions that have a legal or similarly significant effect on individuals without human involvement.

Children’s Privacy & Online Safety
Vision recognises that children and young people require additional protection when their personal information is collected and handled, particularly in online environments.
Where Vision collects personal information from, or in relation to, individuals under the age of 18, Vision will work to the following:
Best interests of the child
Ensure that the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information is consistent with the best interests of the child, having regard to their safety, well-being, and rights.
Data minimisation
Only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary (and, where applicable, strictly necessary) for Vision’s functions and activities, particularly in relation to online services and digital platforms.
Parental or guardian involvement
Where appropriate, and having regard to the age and capacity of the individual, Vision will:
- seek consent from a parent or legal guardian before collecting or using personal information; and
- take reasonable steps to verify that consent has been provided by an authorised person.
Age-appropriate communication
Take reasonable steps to ensure that privacy notices, requests for consent, and explanations about how personal information is handled are provided in a clear, accessible, and age-appropriate manner.
Online tracking and technologies
Where Vision uses cookies, analytics, or similar technologies on services likely to be accessed by children, Vision will:
- limit tracking to what is necessary for functionality, security, or service improvement; and
- avoid practices that may be considered intrusive or inconsistent with the best interests of children.
Security and retention
Apply enhanced safeguards to personal information relating to children, including limiting retention periods and ensuring secure handling.
Identification of age
Vision does not routinely verify the age of individuals interacting with its services, including those contacting Vision through prayer lines, customer service channels, or other pastoral or ministry interactions. As a result, Vision may not always be able to determine whether an individual is a child at the time personal information is collected.
Where Vision becomes aware, or reasonably suspects, that it is dealing with a child, Vision will take reasonable steps to apply additional safeguards consistent with this policy, including seeking parental or guardian involvement where appropriate.
Continuous Improvement & regulatory alignment
Vision will monitor developments in privacy law and regulatory guidance and will review and update its practices to align with applicable requirements, including the Children’s Online Privacy Code under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
