Wader Quest Grants Fund
Our grant application window is currently open.
Please read below on how to apply for a Wader Quest grant.
Wader Quest provides grant funding to individual and organisation projects, and welcomes applications for funding for projects that further the vision, aims, and mission of Wader Quest.
Wader Quest was established to provide financial support to small-scale conservation projects, particularly those that:
– Deliver tangible and sustainable conservation outcomes.
– Demonstrate clear benefit to wader species (resident or migratory).
– Meaningfully engage local communities.
– Would otherwise face challenges in accessing conventional funding sources.
For the 2026/27 financial year, The Wader Quest Grants Panel will consider applications up to £1,500 and will make their recomendations to the Trustes as to whether to grant all, part or none of the application.
The Grants Panel runs two grant application windows in a calendar year:
| Window Opens | Window Closes | Trustee Review | Applicant Discussion with Trustees (if required) | Grant Award Payment |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 01 June | 30 September | Early- mid October | Mid-late October | November |
| 01 December | 31 March | Early-mid-April | Mid – late April | May |
If your project timing falls outside these windows, please contact us through applications@waderquest.net as in exceptional circumstances such grants may be considered by the Grants Panel.
All grant applicants are encouraged to read the application policy and guidance before submitting a grant application to ensure that they have best possible chance of receiving a positive outcome.
Once you have read the policy and guidance, and are ready to submit your application, download and complete the Word format version and send to us by email at applications@waderquest.net. Please be aware that all applications will be assessed in line with the policy and guidance, and not all applications will be granted the full amount requested.
All grantees will be required to report on how their grant was used and the impact this has had over the lifetime of the project. This may also include providing reports part-way through a project or funded period. The requirements for reporting will be set out as part of the grant agreement. Reports being submitted should use the Impact Report template, which can be downloaded below
If you have any questions about an application, or whether you would like to know more about our process and whether you should submit an application for your project, please first review the Application Guidance above, or email us at applications@waderquest.net.
