Why the can?

Recycling glass can use more energy than making new bottles because it requires high heat, and glass degrades each time it’s recycled, limiting reuse. In contrast, aluminum cans use only a quarter of that energy and can be recycled infinitely without losing quality.

The aluminium we use is endlessly recyclable with 70% going back into our cans!

We found that recycling a glass bottle actually uses more energy than making a new one! Aluminium cans, however, use just a fraction of that energy, with a carbon footprint 1/4 that of a traditional bottle.

Cans are also much lighter, and have a much higher packaging density, meaning lower transportation emissions and costs. Did you know transportation makes up 27% of the UK’s carbon footprint?

FAQs

In short, Yes! Absolutely! Right down to the packaging we have used. This is really important to WTF and we made sure every step of the way to make our products vegan friendly. You may not know this, but traditional wine-making techniques often use substances to clarify the wine, such as Isinglass – a substance obtained from the dried swim bladders of fish! Yuck!

At WTF we decided this just won’t do and instead we use a filtration system that clears our wines without the need for any animal products!

Technically speaking, all wine is fruit wine… however most wines are fermented from just grapes. Here, at WTF, we question: why limit wine to just grapes?

WTF has made four different fruit wines by fermenting Apples, Strawberries, Raspberries and Blackcurrants. The process of making the wine is very similar to making grape wine, however, we have a few WTF secrets and tricks up our sleeves to make our fruit wine STANDOUT from the crowd.

For example, we simply refuse to add any sulphites or other preservatives to the wine!

We can deliver to the UK mainland at the moment, unfortunately excluding Northern Ireland. However, we hope to be able to include many more locations very soon. – How long does delivery take?

We know it’s important to you to get your wines quickly. Therefore we use, as standard, fast shipping.

– Our standard shipping provides a 1-2 working day delivery*.

That means that if you complete your order before noon, you can usually expect your wine the following day. Or if ordered on a Friday, delivery will usually be Monday.

*Deliveries to islands and the Scottish Highlands however may take us a little longer
