Prioritizing Mental Wellness During National Minority

Mental health is a vital part of overall wellness, yet it is often overlooked or not openly discussed in many communities. National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month serves as a reminder of the importance of prioritizing emotional well-being, breaking stigma, and creating safe spaces where people feel seen, heard, and supported.

For many, the conversation around mental health is still shaped by silence, cultural expectations, or limited access to care — making awareness and education even more essential. In fact, only about 25% of Black people seek mental health treatment when needed, highlighting how stigma and access continue to impact care.
