About OCR

The University of Findlay is committed to creating a safe environment for everyone. The Office for Civil Rights’ goal is to support a campus culture that celebrates healthy relationships and mutual respect. We commit to respond to incidents, support individuals through University processes and educate our campus community.

“The Civil Rights team is committed to ending harassment, discrimination, sex discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual violence and other forms of sexual misconduct. All team members are highly trained and are committed to eliminating, preventing, and addressing all instances of prohibited conduct. Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 is a federal law that states: “No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”

Prevention & Education programming is provided to campus on a continual basis. Our staff carries out a robust schedule of programs and events that are grounded in theory and informed by data from resources available across campus.”

The Office of Civil Rights is open and available for in-person and virtual meetings. Meetings may be scheduled by calling the office at 419-434-4739 or emailing civilrights@findlay.edu.
