To be honest, even though I didn't really expect it, I have to admit that I was really charmed by this flick and, in my opinion, it is actually one of the very best fairy tales delivered by Disney. I was apprehensive, to say the least, when I went to see Tangled, after the disappointment that was Princess and the Frog. First, Disney's back with CGI animation, which hasn't really worked that great except, maybe to some extent, Bolt. Second, the trailers made it look really slapstick -- I'm rather wary of today's animation features that try too hard to be hip and fast-paced and silly.

"This was Disney's fiftieth animated feature, and they certainly picked a good one to mark the occasion! :-) Rapunzel was perhaps the only classic fairytale they didn't cover in their golden ages.
