Trinity Introduces Data Science Major Designed to Prepare Students for Careers

A new data science major approved during the 2025-26 academic year will equip Trinity College students with the knowledge, tools, and problem-solving skills to meaningfully work with data across all industries and applications. Students may declare data science as a major starting in the fall 2026 semester. Using an interdisciplinary approach that combines foundational training in computer science and applied mathematics, the major offers opportunities for project-based learning and domain-specific applications across the liberal arts.
