its not just instagram imo, pretty much all social media has the disturbing side effect of people starting to optimize their personality and/or aesthetic around it to the point where it starts to manifest in irl negatives

this is also how to fix poverty - instead of paying interest on savings accounts, make it a lottery where the whole payout goes to one person per month you could get 30% of people off food stamps this way

Ethereum is not "losing to Solana" because of TPS or the architecture of L2s. It's losing to Solana because Eth has a deeply elitist culture that drives away innovative young builders, and Solana has a great dev pipeline. The problem isn't technical, it's human.
